Fast food pizza, salad bar, dessert style pizza. Went on a Saturday afternoon. Standing room only. Ate here a couple years ago and wasn't all that impressed. Saturday's visit was somewhat better than last time. Pizza was fresh and hot. With the sizable crowd they had a hard time keeping the pizzas stocked. Salad bar didn't look pleasing so I didn't indulge. However, about 1/2 the crowd did indulge and of course, there were those couple who thought they'd run out of salad so they piled their plate high. They also have about 6 different containers for noodles with 3 different sauces. Looking at the noodles they were somewhat dried out so I didn't indulge myself with the noodles either. Tried the berry pizza style deserts. It wasn't to bad. All in all, 2.5 stars out of 5. Nothing special, but if you're on a fixed budget and have kids cost wise at 12.50 a person for all you can eat is a bargain. Interior could definitely use some elbow grease cleaning. Walks n doors needed cleaning and the doors going into the kitchen looked like the only thing that would help them was some sanding and paint. Bathrooms were dirty and walls/floors needed a good cleaning if not painted. Even if I had wanted to partake of the salad bar it would have been difficult as the line for the salad bar intertwines with the line to the cashier to pay for your meal. Outside parking was limited and there was trash strewn around the parking lot. There is no special handicap seating. Wherever you can grab a open table you grab it. They finally opened up another dining area to accommodate the crowd coming in. Staff was friendly and helpful were they could be. The employee busing the tables deserved every cent and then some, she made along with tips which were far and few between which is a shame. She worked non stop trying to clean tables off and get them ready for the next person. They have an old King James Bible on display in the dining room that you can turn a couple pages at a time but with the condition being old I would be concerned about wear and tear. We of course didn't go in the kitchen but the health department inspection sheet posted on the entry door gave notice to food being left out in the open that wasn't covered or refrigerated. Temp of food being prepared was checked also. There was a couple other things noted on the inspection report but nothing major that would cause me not to eat there. Myself with the many food restaurants available to eat at I won't be going back to Mr. Gatti's. Just not a establishment that I would go...
Read moreWe haven't had a Gatti's that was worth a damn in Louisville for a very long time - in fact, most (if not all) locations we used to frequent as kids have since closed. On a day out to Kart Kountry, my wife n I stopped into this Mr Gatti's for dinner (and to kill time, avoiding rush hour traffic) and we were pleasantly surprised by how great this buffet was! We normally have to cross the bridge to Clarksville to have a Gatti's buffet as good as this one, but this Shepherdsville store was even better than Clarksville! The pizzas were kept at a hot n fresh rotation, plenty of varities (sausage, being my fav was plentiful), the cheesesticks were by far THE best Gatti's cheesesticks I've ever had, and the awesome garlic Texas toast. And then there was the pastas! Spaghetti noodles, fettuccine, mac n cheese and the sauces - meat, marinara, alfredo... it seemed endless. My wife especially enjoyed the noodles & the green beans. If a Gatti's restaurant in L'ville had been kept up this well, we'd prob'ly still have more of 'em around. I will tell everybody though, if you're looking for the Best Gatti's experience, hit up the store in Shepherdsville! Kart Kountry is one of our most fav places to go play, so we WILL be bk to Gatti's again too,...
