My family and I stayed in the la Quinta and we were excited to find out about the chicken place on the main floor! Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. We tried to order online to have it brought to our hotel door but online ordering was unavailable. We tried calling several times but no answer. So we all headed down there and seated ourselves as the sign stated. The bar had a few patrons, a few other groups around but seemed like a fairly quiet night for them. We sat and waited 15 minutes. Another group walked in and right away they were greeted and given waters and menus. The bar tender finally came up to us and gave us menus. The menu prices are higher than what’s listed online which was frustrating. After waiting even longer this time we watched the large group that had come in after us get their orders taken. So we decided we would just leave but who I’m assuming was the owner noticed and came over to help us. We ordered and again it felt like a waiting game. When the food did finally arrive we were told to wait for plates and utensils. When they came back with these we were only given 3 sets of everything rather than 4 and the Cesar salad had no dressing.
Lots and lots of waiting while watching other patrons receive much higher quality care for a restaurant we only tried because it was supposed to be our room service for the night which obviously didn’t work out.
The chicken was good, just not good enough...
Read moreSadly, I must leave a follow up review due to the disrespect and passive aggressiveness by this business in their review response to my alternate account DerWolf158, which I use to leave reviews on places that warrant a bad review (of which you certainly now deserve). If you'd like to peruse through my reviews and ratings on this account you will notice that they are all stellar, since I had great experiences at every single one of those places compared to the few that I have not.
Firstly, you claim there's no order record on the day I left the review, which would be correct, since I was on a trip around Colorado and left the review days later on 9/25. (On 9/21 was when I was in Silverthorne and I ordered some chicken with a side of mac and cheese and barbecue sauce. What I received was chicken, french fries and ranch. I did not want to make the bartender and cook's jobs harder since they were tending to the other customers, which in the end as I said, the food was great!).
Secondly, I do not have the physical receipt but I do have the charge on my CapitalOne app for $25.41. Regardless, there doesn't need to be any resolution here and I don't want anything from you since I am simply "calling it what it is." Any reviews that I leave are true and lived experiences, whether they be negative or positive, hopefully this helps.
Have a great day! #FactsOverFiction...
Read moreLiving in Summit County, the biggest thing I’ve missed from outside of the area is a neighborhood hangout that’s family-friendly but still has enough of an edge that may offend only the most clutchy of pearl clutchers.
“It’s in the back of a La Quinta,” I told my wife and I wanted to take her here after being three times solo. I have a 10 year old and a 2 year old, so finding a good place that all four of us can enjoy is rare and nigh impossible. So let’s check the boxes:
Me: friendly people, insane chicken, and the best happy hour in town (wings are $1. I don’t know how long that will last but take advantage). My bar is low but my criteria for “special” is high and it clears it.
Wife: service can struggle at times but probably due to their first summer season. Upon subsequent visits for her she’s enjoyed herself, particularly the massage chair.
Son (10): Videogames? Check. Corn hole and foosball? Check. Awesome chicken? Check.
Daughter (2): the space is huge and THEY HAVE TOYS. Like, she was able to run around without issue and loves the employees who give her a hug when she asks.
Overall, I love it. I go here at least once a week and am always met with friendly faces and a pour of my favorite beer, and am able to feel like I can just “hang out” and have...
