I frequent this restaurant often and today was by far the worst experience. My party of 6 walked in on a slow Wednesday night. Plenty of empty tables. The host looked confused as ever to where to seat us. She called another worker over and together it was like the hardest thing to seat us. Again plenty of empty tables. Then I overheard them saying they don’t know where to put us and maybe the can ask a waitress if we can sit in her area. After 15 minutes of waiting behind nobody we got seat. It took another 15 minutes for the waitress to come out. She looked terrified to even talk to black people. Eventually she warmed up. She told us everything they was out of which was like 5 things. We proceeded to order. She put our orders in and came back 5 minutes later to say they are out of stuffed burgers. I was a bit confused because other people in my party had burgers but whatever. I basically had to settle. After we ate appetizers our waitress never cleaned our dishes off the table but bought out our entrees so now we eating in clutter because this again is a party of 6. Not one time did she check in and the one time she did my 2 teen kids asked for a refill on sprite, she gave us a pitcher of sprite that we had to refill ourselves which I thought was tacky. Just an overall bad experience but because I work in the service industry we still tipped fairly good. I was very disappointed tonight and I probably won’t be coming back for a long time. We have come on the busiest times during football season and busy weekend nights and never got the service we...
Read moreOrdered food on app. Checked in when we arrived. Sat in parking lot for fifteen minutes waiting for our “curbside pickup”. Went in to disturb the two teenage girls from their social media and was told I needed to go to the “back” of the restaurant. Mind you, we requested curbside because my foot is bandaged, and the young lady made no offer to go get it for me. Apparently, you are just supposed to know that “curbside” also has a special place to park, although it doesn’t really matter because you have to go in after the food anyway. We just live a short distance from the restaurant and by the time we’d been through all of this, gone back inside to get our food from the “back”, and made it home, the cold, soggy sweet potato fries and the cold, soggy, burnt Cajundillia had just lost their appeal.
The bad thing for the restaurant is that we eat out quite often. Being so close to the house, this place could have had s new set of regular customers. Instead, I doubt I’ll be back.
—UPDATE— My girlfriend ended up, calling up and speaking to the manager. The manager was very good to make things right for us. This included refunding our meal and giving us a voucher to come in on their dime. It was a really great experience the second time around. Since then, we have stopped in several times, and really enjoyed it. But, that first time...
Read moreI have given walk ons in Slidell three chances. Everytime is the same and at least I can say they are consistent. Food is mediocre prices are astronomically high. Food portions are small. Place is a ghost town and not one worker in this place appears to be happy. Today I ordered a chicken sandwich. I wish I took pictures . $16 and came with no lie 8 waffle fries small sized. The sandwich had a thin I leak thin piece of chicken on it. Where the meat ! All bun. Such a waste of my hard earned money. It’s not to much to ask. Get what you pay for and look as if you appreciate a customers business. I am beside myself that this place is still in business. Lastly I have been to the Covington location and have much less to complain about if anything. Food portions are decent and staff appears to be happy they have a job. I will continue to spread the word that Walk ons in Slidell is a complete waste of time and money. Three times and I’m out . Shame on le for giving it...
