This Is It! Southern Kitchen & Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Smyrna

We had the unfortunate experience of trying this location recently rather than going to the Camp Creek location which is where we normally eat. First of all the Smyrna location is not very clean. After I mentioned it while waiting for our food, Mr. Jones asked his young employee to come and clean the tables to which he cleaned only half of them and then left the cleaning supplies on the tables. The tables were heavily scratched up and desperately needed replacing. While the workers were nice, they were Latina and had difficulty understanding English. They gave us the wrong food at least twice during the transaction. Half of the hair of one female employee was uncovered which was concerning as it was long and could have easily gotten in the food that she was preparing for customers, including myself. Mr. Jones was very odd and was difficult to communicate with. The food was mediocre and certainly NOT representative of true This Is It food. This place should NOT be allowed to use the This Is It name as they are a very poor representation of the restaurant. One member in my party had heard rave reviews of This Is It, but had never eaten there and I was completely embarrassed that I chose this location as an introduction to the restaurant. Mr. Jones stated that people tend to look down on this location because is it not as large as the other ones, but the real reason is because this place is truly representative of a "hole in the wall." Do yourself a favor and avoid it...

I have been living in Metro Atl for a little under 2 yrs and during that time I’ve spent a small fortune trying to find decent restaurants. I wouldn’t consider myself a foodie but rather a Connoisseur of good food! After countless wasted dollar and many failed attempts. I am happy to say that no matter the place or time This is it BBQ always delivers! I have tried several locations and even arrived minutes before closing! Customers Service is awesome, food is made with Love and packaged with care!!! For Once I’ve found a resturant that uses other seasonings besides salt!!!!!!!! Fried chicken is seasoned, cooked to order and crispy not overly battered. Catfish is tasty and crispy. Mac and cheese melts in your mouth!!!!!!!! Seriously I’m not sure why the ratings are sooo low but if you desire a home cooked meal away from home than you won’t go wrong with This is it BBQ !!!! Oh yeah! I even had the fried turkey during the holidays and once again it delivered( poor turkey didn’t stand a chance😁!). If there was something to improve on, it would be the locations!!! Could us ppl living near Woodstock get some love too??? Just saying that ballpark traffic is a bit much sometimes to endure, even for on of the best soul food restaurants in Metro. Went to get our meal and very disappointed with the outcome. I got two meals one was baked Turkey wings with rice green beans and corn and my son said his meal was good and I had ribs tips with mac cheese and collard greens and it was horrible🤨🤨the rib tips were mostly bones and overcooked and the greens had alot stalks in them and were bitter and the mac cheese was okay and then I had a small bowl of chitterlings and had to rinse them off and redo them but in overall it was a waste of my money for what I paid for it $63.00😳😳so I kept the food and took it back the next day to get it replaced or refund so they let me replace it and this time I got a rib plate with baked beans and potato salad and that didn't go well either😔the ribs were very salty and the baked beans were dry and the potato salad was okay but I had to rinse the ribs off with water to remove the season they had on it but in overall I've could've prepared this whole meal for $30 and saved and it would've been great but we were on a mini vacay so we wanted some soulfood but this is the first time I've had a bad experience with them but it will definitely be the last and I would advise anyone if you purchase anything from them to sample it first cause i should've and for the future i definitely will but this is it i have to say you live up to your name "This is it" and i literally mean...
