Base Camp Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Snowmass Village

My brother, roommate and I stopped here in between skiing and while the food was great the service was horrible. Our waitress, Jenine was very rude to us. She could be having a bad day. After asking her twice for ranch we had to ask someone else to bring it to us. (okay not a big deal) But she only checked on us once so we were out of water for the rest of our meal. It wasn’t that busy. As we were paying our tab she kept asking us the price of the food. Confused because she works there and didn’t know the price? It is one tab per table which we weren’t made aware of until we paid. Which is fine but we did put two payments down. It caused the biggest deal bc we asked to put chicken fingers on one tab and Jenine kept asking us how much money to put on one tab. I think we spent 10 min alone on saying “put the chicken tenders and tater tots on this card” and her responding “so how much money am I supposed to put on that card?” She made us get a calculator out and calculate how much the chicken tenders and tater tots were. While the food was great the service really makes a place. As people that have all worked in the service industry we didn’t understand why she didn’t know the price of the food or couldn’t put in the POS system that the chicken tenders are being paid for on this card. We recently had the pleasure of dining at Basecamp in SnowMass, and our experience was truly unforgettable! Our server, Austin, was absolutely phenomenal - his genuine kindness, extensive menu knowledge, and infectious enthusiasm made us feel right at home.

Austin's recommendations were spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed our burrito bowls with steak and chicken, tacos, and other delicious dishes. His suggested margarita pairing was a perfect complement to our meal.

What truly impressed us was Austin's ability to make our family laugh and feel heard. His warm and welcoming demeanor made our first visit to Basecamp an exceptional experience.

What's even more remarkable is that Austin mentioned he was new to the team, but his service was seamless and professional. Kudos to Basecamp for training and supporting their staff!

We ate here after a wonderful day of skiing Snowmass. Restaurant is extremely convenient with ski racks outside and we walked right in and got a seat on the patio. The service was extremely polite, reasonably quick, and very accommodating

Food was good! The highlight was the chicken wings with the dry rub, and the steak salad. The kids ate their food without much complaining. Great beer list with local offerings.

The only quirk of the experience was the playlist being broadcast on the patio. We were subjected to Usher, the Spice Girls, Smashmouth, etc., basically everything that frequented the college playlists in the early 2000s. The volume was so loud it suggested they were trying to transition the dinner experience into a nightclub.
