This place is pretty bad but manageable if you have appropriate/low expectations. First of all, this is a resort style property where all the units are owned by random people — an aparthotel as they would say in Europe. It’s a lodge and not a standard full service hotel. Secondly, it is no longer managed by Destination by Hyatt (the lodge business of the chain) so any Hyatt linkages are even more tenuous. Basically you can use points to book rooms and you get qualifying nights if you book with points and that’s about it. Don’t expect upgrades, free breakfast, bottled water, lake checkout, or any other Hyatt perks. The property is old, never refurbished, dark and cold. The restaurant is not inviting or cosy and it’s also drafty and cold. The rooms are old and worn out and it’s true — the heat in my room didn’t work. There is no fireplace. Whatever heat I got was ambient heat from the hallways. When I complained I got a small portable electric heater. Also you can turn on a timer that produces heat thru the bathroom vents. But hey there is good news — there was hot water at all times! Staff try to accommodate you while working with this crumbling real estate. So why give three stars and not fewer. The place is relatively affordable in a very expensive ski area so you get what you pay for on some level. This is what around $400/night buys in Snowmass in season. Second the location is quite all right. It’s one short block from the main ski run so it’s practically ski in/out. Staff can arrange a shuttle to take you to village base and airport. A lot of the one star reviews are based on unrealistic expectations from a resort property which is not Hyatt owned or managed. Having said that I would drop this location entirely if I was Hyatt as it reflects poorly on the brand. I wouldn’t return — the negatives are just too many.

First of all, The staff were friendly throughout our stay for 3 nights. But the unfortunately, rooms were outdated. To specify there is no Air-condition in this motel or in this entire snow mass village which was really shocking. In June, the average temperature was 74 to 75 Fahrenheit. We couldn’t get a good night sleep at all. The ceiling fan our room was barely flowing air. In addition, No Microwave in the room at all. You have to go to lobby to warm your food. It was very inconvenience for us. On the 3rd night, we had food poisoning from eating cold food. We advise make sure if you order or bring food from outside, make sure it’s warm. They had an orange flavor tea in the lobby which was very delicious. We don’t recommend this motel if you are used to sleeping in air conditioning specially when it’s hot because this motel doesn’t have any ac room. Plus there is No microwave in the room which is another annoying thing. They did have a micro-refrigerator which enabled us to put our foods in. Overall we loved Aspen on our stay but we would recommend this motel in fall or winter times only. Not in the summer. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

I have been thinking about some good things to say in this review about this hotel, but to be honest, there isn’t many. My husband and I were celebrating our 1st year wedding anniversary near the hotel and had decided to book a night here. I was really expecting this to be a decent upscale hotel (as it’s in Snowmass and other surrounding well known resorts), but it was definitely not. I can not say enough about how dissappointed I am with it. We got in late (spent sometime at the hot springs pools), was greeted very friendly by the front staff, although he kept mentioning check in was at 4pm and he had our extra items waiting for us in the fridge in the room since it was getting late, which was very nice of him, but still rementioned check in was at 4. He then handed a free glass of wine coupon from the bar, which closed an hour before we had arrived and he didn’t even acknowledge that it might be closed, but insisted my husband go ask and see. No free glass of wine for us, which is fine, but don’t give it to us and then make us see if we can still get it that night. Could have told us to save it and use it another time or just don’t give it at all. We then asked about a late check out because I had signed up for the loyalty program online while booking because of the late check out opportunity and the front desk staff told me it would be a fee regardless of my loyalty status though I had looked into this before we got there and after booking the room and was told late check out would be possible if there was availability, I was just told it would be a fee, nothing about if they had availability or not. I slowly blew it off and we asked about the parking situation, was told they use the public parking lots across the way so we could park there. Come to find out the lots are super packed and only have 1 way in and out, so parking was a pain as we had to pull through looking for a spot and then back straight out as we couldn’t get through. Finally found parking. Be prepared to walk a bit for parking to the hotel. We then moved our way to the room. This was not an any better experience as the room was super outdated, dark and musty smelling right off the bat. Then found out the room also didn’t have AC, which was never mentioned on the website, although the room did have a thermostat and a unit so it was very misleading and we were told to use fans and open the windows and it would be fine. With having the windows open came loud noise and yelling at 2am from an intoxicated couple down below since our room was right above the front entrance. We had breakfast in the morning at the buffet downstairs which was pretty much the only positive about this place besides the area it was in. This hotel works good if your family vacationing or spending most of the time outdoors, but if you are looking for a romantic “fancy/upscale hotel” or celebrating an event, please do not go here! Save yourself the disappointment and money. Really wish I would have known this ahead of time and I would have booked somewhere else. I even did research before hand and based off of first looks and website/review research this place seemed fine, but that’s not the case at all. Perfect for a visit not pertaining to anything romantic, but we won’t be returning here...

I booked this property yesterday 8-30-25, based off of a few positive reviews and the location. I made reservations with a 3rd party, which is Expedia. I selected the option book now and pay later. The details stated no money is due at booking. You will be charged the full and final payment upon arrival. Today, I checked my account and there were 2 separate charges from this resort. I called the resort to find out why was I charged when it clearly states on the website and my booking reservation receipt that full and final payment is due the day of arrival. The lady at the front desk named Melinda was very rude and not helpful at all. She kept trying to brush me off of the phone while I was talking. I asked for a manager, or someone from the reservations department. She said that department wasn't open yet which is understandable. However, her tone and demeanor was very rude. I then called Expedia to inquire about why was a charged 2 different times. The guy from Expedia explained that I should not have been charged any thing until the day of my arrival. At this point, I was very aggravated. He said he would reach out to the resort to see why I was charged and follow up with me. Moving forward, I called the resort back and spoke to a guy named Ben, which was just as rude as Melinda if not worse. I explained to him what happened and asked why was I charged. He said its their policy to charge a deposit. I said that wasn't on the website or my confirmation email. He saw that I was charged twice and said you shouldn't have been charged twice. You should have been charged once. I can refund you one of the charges. I proceeded to say no, I need both charges refunded. He even said if I cancel my reservations I would only get 1 payment refunded and I would be charged a 10% cancelation fee. Another dishonest red flag. The reservation clearly states free cancelation by November 5, 2025. Not to mention I made these reservations less than 24 hours ago. So not only did you charge me twice, you are also trying to charge me a cancelation fee that does not apply to the policy and time that is on my reservations receipt and the website. The deposit would not have been an issue IF that was the policy on the website and the receipt. This place is very shady and unprofessional. I was looking forward to staying and having a good time, but I will take my money elsewhere. PLEASE read over all of the information BEFORE and AFTER you book, so that you will not have any unexpected charges and fees. Beware the customer service at this place is horrible! I will also upload proof of my booking receipt and email where it states NO payment is due until the...
