Aurum Food & Wine Aspen Snowmass — Restaurant in Snowmass Village

My review it won’t be fair. My 1 star for service is specifically for one person that works as a hostess (Eugenia) this was 3-13 around 2:30pm everyone else’s wonderful every time we were there. Unfortunately not this lady who it was not only rude to me when after being on the patio for hours consuming after a heavy snow I asked to be seated at a table indoors because my son was about to finish his ski lesson. Her attitude was very inappropriate also her gestures, she sent another employee to ask me if we were planning on consuming which clearly we have been doing since 11am. Despite her attitude they proceeded to give us a table while my husband waited at the table i went outside to look for our son after his lesson and once we get inside the restaurant again our son who is autistic and struggles with social interaction but has been working really hard on good manners and courtesy proceeds to great Mrs Eugenia and she completely ignored him not even look at him. After that there were a couple of circumstances and we talked to the manager who also was very sorry about the situation. As I said we were at this restaurant in many occasions and loved everyone. On our way out my husband asked her name and she dare to lie to us. When we already knew her name was different not only that but also she try to apologize in a way that it was wrong. I completely understand we all have moments and a busy time at restaurant it can be stressful but if we can recognize our mistakes and offer a sincere apology it makes everything go smoothly. We tried this place last night since all the reviews were so great, but the food was way overpriced for the taste/quality and the service was terrible.

We sat down and waited over 15 minutes for a waiter to come over and take our drink order. We placed our order for food and after a few minutes, my mom and I changed our minds and decided to split the salmon - it was under large plates and for $59 we thought it would be a good sized portion, but we were wrong.

So the order we received our food in was: appetizer for the table, then my dad's main (hamburger), 15 mins later, another appetizer, and then my mom and my salmon....

When my dad received his hamburger, we asked the waiter if our food was coming out too but then blamed us for changing the order... I've changed my order several times at restaurants, but I have NEVER been to a restaurant that brings out someone else's main first, so by the time we received the salmon by dad's plate was already cleared away...

The food was insanely overpriced for the taste/quality. The curried cauliflower tasted like it could have been from a Whole Food's prepared section. The salmon was fine but definitely not worth $59. I'm well aware that entrees around Aspen/Snowmass are expensive, but after being here for 1.5 months I have yet to see a restaurant charge so much for a salmon dish and if they did have a premium charge it was definitely worth it (i.e., Chica's salmon is...

Aurum Food, situated at the base of Snowmass Village right by the ski lifts, is an excellent choice for both lunch and apres ski. While it may not be the fastest option for a quick bite, the quality of the food more than makes up for any wait times.
