My wife and I have been patronizing Mary's Pizza Shack for quite a few years now. I'm not gonna say "We've been coming here for 30 years", but I WILL say at least 8 or 10. We went to this particular restaurant in Sonoma (Spain street) again about a week ago, and we were treated like absolute DIRT by some childish little girl named Vanessa. I really don't understand how/why Mary's would allow someone like this to deal directly with their customers. I later called the manager (Adam) to let him know how we felt, however, I quickly realized that Adam and Vanessa are like two peas in a pod. I found Adam to be very callus, unapologetic, and simply uninterested in what I had to say. I got the impression that he was totally uninterested in anything I had to say, and couldn't get me off his back soon enough. It was at that point that my wife and I decided that we will NEVER visit this Mary's Pizza Shack again. We know our absence isn't going to cause them to close their doors, but they should keep in mind that it's a lot easier to lose customers than it is to gain them. We'll make you a deal though... you guys keep Vanessa and Adam in your restaurant, and we'll spend our money...
Read moreChristmas Eve, 9 people,, reserved two tables on patio by the fire 3 weeks advanced. Went over the details on the phone to make sure we could get these table at 5:15. Showed up. Empty restaurant pretty much except our tables. We were on time. We are only eating here for the fire and tables. Kids, old people, Christmas. They had erased our reservation. We showed an email confirmation. It took about 15 minutes for the manager to show up and he was incredibly hostile. We showed our reservation and he was obnoxious. So, we can't find anywhere else to eat at that late date and it took them 30 minutes to give us a table on the patio away from the fire and views of the lights. The rudest experience in a restaurant. We ate the original Mary's when she was alive and it was a good restaurant. It just keeps going down hill. No apology, no free drink, no comped appetizers. Just hostility on Christmas Eve toward a multigenerational family with a reservation. The staff were obviously afraid of him too. Yuck to this place. Our waiter was very nice.

Read moreUpdate 4-8-23 Welp, some of us were waiting for anybody to help us at the bar. Took a while, but they got some girl to get off her break to help us (even though the place was not busy and employees were talking to each other, including the manager). But hey, props to the girl that ended her break early. Sorry if they made you do that.
1-22-23 If you ever go out by yourself and need to use the restroom, make sure you tell the waitress not to throw your food away, even if you are only gone for a minute.
Honestly, it varies between experiences. There are days when it's good and days when it's bad. Idk how but sometimes they can get an order wrong (sometimes multiple times in a row), sometimes they forget to mention what is not available upon taking orders or they didnt know because no one told them. Im actually not sure what the male managers do there (from what I've seen the female managers tend to try to resolve an actual issue), they tend to let mistakes fall on some of the employees (instead of correcting or finding solutions, it has happened infront of us).
