Taqueria Sonora Taqueria Sonora was a great find. It was the small mom-and-pop type hole-in-the-wall that I live and breathe for. I went with a super lengua burrito and a tripe taco. The tripe was perfectly fried and tucked into two tortillas and smothered with a delicious salsa. The burrito was awesome, the lengua was perfectly cooked and flavored. The burrito did fall apart towards the end, but I devoured everything!! My wife went with the flautas that looked more like taquitos to me. She felt that they were good for taquitos, but did not satisfy her craving for flautas since taquitos and flautas are two very different dishes. The taquitos came with rice and beans which were really good. They also came with a side salad that had very spicy dressing that my wife was not able to eat. All in all, she enjoyed her meal.

Highly recommend this place, food is delicious and authentic. Quaint little restaurant with limited seating but I think these kinds of places are the best! It was super busy the whole time I was there and it is obvious this place was a favorite among locals. I ordered a chili verde torta and it was seriously life changing! I have never had such a tasty torta in my life!! Everyone at my table said their meals were delicious and the food looked perfect! Gracias a la cocinero muy deliciosa!

Great salsa bar. Crispy, warm chips. Delicious, well-made food. Really good horchata. Very nice staff. This taqueria is better than many in the Bay Area. The chiles rellenos and sopes are especially good, and not often found in a typical taqueria. The salsa bar includes limes, serranos, pickled chilis & carrots, salsa fresca, avocado salsa (2 varieties), etc. They also have the usual offerings: platos, tacos, burritos, tortas. It's located mid-block and easy to miss, but worth finding.

I’ve been here many times and I will not be returning after this experience. First of all I got food poisoning along with my son from the super nachos. I told them about it. They told me that they didn’t believe me basically and that they just ate that same thing earlier so there’s no way it could’ve been food poisoning. I noticed while I was there that the cook never once washed his hands or changed gloves or sanitized at all in between touching anything and I didn’t say anything because I was trying to be nice, but when I told them what had happened, they acted like it was my fault and were very rude and indignant. The place was also very filthy. Strongly do not recommend. I live in the valley and this food has nothing on the Mexican food down there any So I suggest finding a better place than this cesspool of food borne illness

Also wanna add that the food was not even close to reaching 165 degrees. ...

Gave this place a second chance, due to the best Mexican restaurant being temporarily closed. Bad decision...it was still TERRIBLE! Ordered the carnits super nachos. They used pre-packaged, stale chips. Couldn't even say if they added cheese because we couldn't find any. The carnitas was VERY DRY and TASTELESS, but the pico de gallo had the WORST, old, overpowering taste, and the worst part about it was, that it was smothered in pico de gallo. There was no getting around, or covering up that horrible taste. It took over the whole dish. But, i did find where the moisture that should have been in the carnitas went..... there was a giant puddle of grease (at least a 1/4 cup) right under the chips. And to top it off, they were almost 5 dollars more than what they coast elsewhere. Will NEVER eat...
