I usually ignore low reviews and give the benefit of the doubt to businesses, especially historical or family-owned. (And generally look past all things in an effort to remain supportive and respectful of said businesses.) We’ve stayed in some real “pits” masked as inns or motels in our past so we’re used to bringing our own sheets and bug sprays and shower shoes as-needed, or not, with eyes wide open. We don’t need a high-star-hotel to enjoy a stay nor major amenities. Bare minimum expectation really. And we’ve always encountered friendly folks in all areas of the service industry anywhere we’ve stayed over the past two decades, often making long-time friendships… but THIS place is by far worse than anything you could imagine. So with the typical mind to ignore low reviews, assuming some people do like to complain and are rotten sorts, or perhaps just not used to certain conditions and expect a standard they’re more adjusted to that isn’t applicable to the place in question and therefore, review it in an out-of-bounds manner, I ignored the less-attractive-reviews and made the great error of bringing my family here. DO NOT IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS THESE 1-2 stars at most ARE ACCURATE since you cannot rate in the negative numbers. The high-star ones are inaccurate and hard to even believe. The complaints about this awful place ARE real. Bugs, dirty rooms, broken a/c on over 100F days, loud rooms, broken doors and windows that don’t close, hugely-sagging beds, horrendous management, very rude and frankly just awful, terrible people at the desk... They do not follow their stated contracts nor policies either, be aware. They will illegally charge your card on days you canceled despite being within policy/contract and blatantly lie and claim they didn’t receive cancellation in time. (By waiting to return your messages left with other employees 48 hours later than when they were requested and left.) They will argue it until blue in the face to steal from you.
Beware, save your family, and stay ANYWHERE but here. Sleeping in a filled dumpster would be a better choice than compared with...
Read moreThe night of 31st of July after spending the whole day in Yosemite we returned to the hotel with my car and we couldn't find a parking place because it was full. We went into the reception to explain the problem to the person in charge. The guy who was there told us that he couldn't do anything and what is more he said to us that he did not want to check all the car plates parked. he suggested to park on the street outside. Due to no alternatives I moved my car outside but for my surprise in the main streets of Sonora you can not park during certain hours of the morning. We had to find a street not very friendly because of the dark and left our car there until the next morning.
After parking that night we went back to the reception to ask for a claim form to express our nonconformity due to the fact that we had previously paid for a parking place included.
For our surpise, the guy in charge gave us a normal blank sheet without any format and a pencil to write our nonconformity. When I saw it I told him that it was not a formal claim form and he told me that they didn't use claim forms in the hotel...
After having this non sense conversation with the receptionist I asked him for the boss of the hotel and he told me that there was no a boss in the hotel telling me also that the supervisor would be in the morning next day.
The conversation with this guy felt me rejected and degraded. The treat was very unpleasant. I will never ever visit again this hotel...
The rooms are too old as well.
I would like to add that the breakfast that they include is incredibly little, and they have a note in the breakfast room that says something like "the ingredients of the food served can cause cancer or other healty problems"...
I don't recommend this...
Read moreMy review for the hotel Have come here for years with great service until last trip. I fell on the steps and sprained my ankle. The manager Ginger and my daughter screamed about calling an ambulance for me. The police came and they called for me. This trip when I entered the office I was asked if there were going to be any problems this time. Not how is your ankle or glad to see you back... I felt attacked. Words were spoken between Ginger and my daughter again. My daughter left. It was stated by Ginger that I could be refused a room. I have never been treated like that in the past. It has been kind and friendly. I am 72 years old and was scolded like a 5 year old. This was all done in front of her employees and other customers. The room I was given had 2 men occuping it already. They gave me a new room. My new white socks turned black from the dirty carpet. The air conditioner filter was full and hanging half out. The bathroom heater and fan were full of dust. My roommate felt he was being watched every time he left the room by a man working there. Was Ginger lying in wait and purposely gave me a dirty room? I wonder... I have been a long standing paying customer and to be treated so poorly and embarrassed in front of strangers like she did. Ginger needs some anger management and customer service classes. No wonder it is a 2 star hotel the way she runs it very unprofessional. It is to bad I really liked coming here. I will not be returning here. You should think twice before coming here, and beware if Ginger waits on you she is an anger bomb looking to explode. She states she owns the property (not I looked it up). I will be communicating with the general manager and owner...
