UPDATE 3/19/23 The business posted a response to my review asking that I reach out to their email to discuss our experience in private and as of today THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED to my email reaching out (though my reaching out again shouldn’t be required to have this addressed after I already left a review and answered the survey they sent us, to which their response was the exact same one they posted here). Original Review: Booked and paid for a king suite as when we called to make the reservation, we were told that was all that was available. We arrived, checked in and paid, and we’re assigned to room 264. It was a single room, not a suite. The safe in the room was not functional. There was what looked like dried blood on the left side of the mattress. When we informed front desk staff, we were offered $80 refund when we initially paid over $300 for one night. Additionally, we had received an email the day before check in saying our room was cancelled but didn’t see it until the morning of check out. Our family was there for a wedding and we all apparently received these emails. Extremely unprofessional behavior as a call should have been made. Thankfully a different family member resolved the issue. Front desk staff made sarcastic remarks about said family directly to us at check in. We mentioned the last name of the family to ask where the reception was and she asked if we meant [family member name]. Then said “Wow, can’t wait to meet her.” And rolled her eyes. Also extremely unprofessional.

I really want to say this is a great place to stay. And, I'm sure in time it will be. The rooms are esthetically pleasing. They're quite cute. But, there was garbage and chips on the floor in our room when we walked in. Lucky for us, there was a broom left outside our door. We cleaned the floor ourselves since it was obviously not done by housekeeping. The internet never worked and we were there for 3 days. The toilet paper, tissues and towels are right on theme, they're as rough as a Lumberjacks beard. The continental breakfast was pretty sad and so was the room it's in. There was no flow to the food so you were having to walk past people eating multiple times just to get your food and drinks ready. The garbage is always about to overflow. There's a tarp over a windowed door that's held up by painters tape. The seats are all stained. I'm sure in time all these little things (that add up to be highly irritating) will be worked out. But possibly the most annoying thing was that every night when we returned to our room, the key card never worked. We had to go across the street to the lobby each time and get new cards. The shining star in all of this, was Christine, the evening desk clerk. We were truly grateful for her.

We were very excited to stay here based on recommendations. We were quickly disappointed upon entering our room. It was quite small with almost no walking room around the bed. Our dog spilled his water and I went to wipe it up and the floor was filthy as you can see below. This is a white towel too. It made me question the cleanliness of the whole room. Later that night I went to take a shower and saw the soap holder was covered in soap residue. The hotel has dispensed soap, shampoo, and conditioner so this also was alarming. There weren’t even 2 full sets of towels and they were very thin and small. Later that night the people next to us kicked our door, and when we called the front desk they said they were going to come talk to them and didn’t but then when I called back she said she was going to call them and didn’t. It was quite upsetting and my husband stayed up all night in case they tried something else. Upon check out we spoke to the manager who apologized, didn’t seem surprised about the cleanliness and only offered us a 15% discount and if we were to try them again would upgrade us to a suite. We never got a bill detail emailed to us like they said and still have not seen a discount.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!! TRASH TRASH TRASH This run down hotel is not only nothing more than cheap paint and opposite of what the pictures show you on their website. But the staff in the front are the MOST disgusting people you will ever meet. I am one of the quietest, most respectful people in nature and I still have the absolute wost experience with the front desk woman. Unfortunately I try to think logically, and assume this person was having a bad day. But when I looked at her I could tell she just "Hated" herself... she was very overweight, to an very uncomfortable size... everything about her screamed "help"... her makeup, her hair, she was just miserable in her own skin. And I know how that feels at moments. I don't think it helped my personality is so up beat and sweet she just attacked us with absolutely no customer service skills in explaining we were too early for check in. Even though we showed her the email saying 11:00am. We politely said no problem. We came back to check in at 3:00pm and two new employees checked us in. They were polite, however when we explained our experience with the woman who gave us such a nasty welcoming they had nothing to say. Their were no "Were sorry for that experince". Or "We apologize for that". This response from more than one staff just shows you how trashy this hotel truly is. When people hate their jobs, they take it out on their customers. It's safe to say no one here has made a career for themselves and have settled in this hotel to check hundreds of people in and out everyday... I hope they all find something that makes them happy because they deserve to be happy. And we as customers deserve to be treated...

Update: my spouse just reminded me, the bathroom doors are barn doors. You can hear everything.

Update 12/6/24: they lied and we never got the refund.

Original: Lumberjack hotel is a mixed bag. We checked in, the TV in our room didn't work. They couldn't move us to another room because it was booked. The night desk lady said maintenance could fix it in the morning. We went to breakfast in the morning and the lady there said maintenance and the manager quit so the TV couldn't be fixed. The morning lady offered a partial refund but said it would take awhile because we booked through Expedia. (Still haven't received the refund). Later, the hotel called and accused us of having a dog in our room. We don't have pets. That was actually pretty funny. No one apologized for that.

The wifi doesn't work. I had to work out of where they serve breakfast in the morning. If you are working online, do not stay here. Book at their sister hotel Sonora inn so you can work from your room. My laptop wouldn't stay connected to the Sonora inn Wi-Fi from our room due to distance and the lumberjack wifi doesn't work. As a traveling professional, that really sucked

Basically, the hotel looks like they spend more time caring about whether or everything is cutesy with lumberjack hotel monogrammed on everything and not enough time actually caring about their clients or their experience. If you are looking for a place to crash one night, it isn't bad. More than one night is a nightmare.

3 stars because my husband thinks it's no big deal. If it was just me it would be 1. Honestly the location is nice...
