We stopped here while out and about. The smell from this place lured us into it. It smells amazing outside! We sat inside, but they did have nice outdoor seating too (Sun was baking the patio, so we sat inside). Service is slow, at least for what we ordered. We ordered the Pescado al Pastor and the Molcatjete Asada. Both dishes were fantastic! The food here was incredible! Slow, but incredible. The couples next to us received their meals, ate their order, and checked out before we received our Dish. They arrived at similar times as us. I did love the fried jalapeños appetizer as an option, which makes it easier than requesting a side of jalapeños. Some places will bring diced or pickled. Whole grilled jalepenos is unmatched in my personal opinion. I did not get a picture, but instead of chips and salsa, they bring, chicharonne de harina instead, with a little Tapatio on them. Nice change up, but I would have like a bit more as we waited so long for our dishes we just kind of sat there. Luckily, I ordered two glasses of water (started this everywhere to avoid slow server's) and it paid off since we were ignored most of the time with an empty table. Bathrooms, oh man, they could use a bit of help here. Clean enough, although some child did urinate all over the seat of the toilet (not their fault, but I checked both at the beginning and end of the hour+ we were there and it was never addressed). Both bathroom sinks are underpowered and very short, and your hands barely fit (see video). Also, in one of the restrooms, the toilet isn't even bolted down properly (see video).

This place was quite exceptional. The service was great, The manager who greeted us was warm friendly and truly wanted to give us a good dining experience. He checked on us throughout the night to make sure we were happy with our food and their service. The food was delicious. I ordered Shrimp Enchiladas in a mild red sauce. You are able to choose from a few different sauces all with different spiciness(heat) to them. The enchiladas were good, I do wish it had a bit more cheese but the flavor was top notch. My wife had the Pollo en Creme which was good. We paired our dinner with a couple of drinks a Blueberry Mojito and a Mango Margarita both good a balance between sweetness and alcohol. We finished our meal with a delightful Lemon Cheesecake (they ran out of the dessert Chimichanga ( Ill come back to try that and leave a review on it)) not only was the food good but the presentation of the food was appetizing in itself. Will be back to visit this restaurant.

This was my husband and mine first time to Sanora. We were looking for a restaurant and came across El Arroyo. We sat outside and Jake was our waiter. We ordered a salad with, I believe a, raspberry dressing and chicken enchiladas to share. The food was amazing. The outside tables are on one side of the stream and across the stream, see photo with red circle, this is where three homeless people were, looking for cans and bottles, at three different times while we were at the restaurant. I would like to say again, the service was perfect, Jake was very attentive and the food was amazing. I don't want anyone to just focus on the homeless people. However I felt that it was important to mention. I want to give the restaurant 4 1/2 ⭐'s. With that being said, we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. We want to plan another trip back to Sanora and when we do we will definitely be going back to El Arroyo restaurant. Bon Appétit! 🍽🍷🥗

My husband and I were there for our first time last Friday eve. They seat us in the "dining room" section where there was only one other table occupied and seat us at a very tiny 2 seater table. True we are only 2ppl, but your restaurant had only 1 table with guests inside and one table of guests outside. A larger table would have been appreciated. But no. So, we decided to share an order of nachos, great. I also order a " premium " margarita. Looking forward to that. Waiting. Still waiting. Still waiting. Remember, there are only THREE tables in the establishment with humans at them. Why the HECK does it take soooo long for A margarita? I couldn't tell you. Still waiting. Been there 15 min now. We have water. Good. Still waiting on Marg. We see chips and Salsa at the table behind us are with ppl, so my husband flags our "waitress" down and politely says" could we get some chips and salsa?" Waitress responds, " you want them now, before your meal? And he responds, " yes please". Waitress brings SMALL bowls chips with TINY bowl salsa. We say " thankyou". Waitress says" your margarita will be right out". I say " great, thanks". 4 min later " premium" marg arrives. I think YAY! I'm baffled. I was expecting " premium". What is this? I taste a lot of lime water. Ohhhh, I think the may have forgot the " premium" part. "Nachos" arrived! 30 mins in now. Oh wow. So we have a SINGLE LAYER OF CHIPS.Some crema (not sour cream) squited in 3 spots, cilantro fragments and a little bit of sauce chicken on top of single layer of chips. These are NOT nachos! Believe me, we know what nachos look like. Okay. We are very polite ppl. We are kind and say thank you hen our " nachos arrived. I did drink the marg. I'm NOT A COMPLAINER! $ 16 drink. Oh, we asked for 1 more TINY bowl for chips and Salsa too, please. "Thanks" we say. Fast forward. Finished my "premium" drink, just about done with nachos. Waitress appears and asks ," how was your marg?" I politely say" not that great actually." She did ask if I'd like another one, but would have a d different bar tender make it". I said "no thank you". She then offered a couple options and we settled on a smaller size, but add a 1/2 shot mor tequila "on the house". My husband agreed before I could say, " no thanks", again. He wants me to be HAPPY! Anyway, smaller glass, 1 1/2 shots.....bad choice. I'm so done. The whole experience at this place was very disappointing. We get the bill. Oh, we have been charged for 2 orders chips and salsas!!!! Why did this waitress not mention, "by the way, we CHARGE for chips and Salsa. Ooooops, forgot to mention THAT! You idiots, THAT IS SOMETHING YOU TELL YOUR CUSTOMER!!!! HELLO??? LIKE I said, we are waaaay too nice and walked out of there with a fake smile on our face. Even the ppl next to us in the EMPRY dining room had to keep flogging their waitress down for water and ice tea!!! Ppl, DO NOT GO TO THIS...

I never complain about service, but this restaurant is run by a bunch of kids and they need a new manager. I went on a date there and we ordered dinner, and mine never came out. I was very clear when ordering, I said ok so we are both ordering 2 of the same thing because lately they have not been paying attention and she said yes I have two orders. I have been eating at arroyo for years. But this new crowd of kids can not be blamed on the pandemic having new people working new jobs. There were plenty of people working that night playing around not paying attention. When my order never arrived after about 15 minutes after waiting for and hour and a half I finally asked the waitress if she knew what was going on with it literallyI waited that long, she said oh I only had you down for one plate. That right folks after I was very specific about making sure she had our order right thats what she said. On top of the fact that she said she would put it back in, it also never arrived again after an hour, you think they would rush the order knowing they messed up but NO. we then spoke to the manager and they said they were sorry did we still want the order we said No weve been here for 3 hours and need to leave! She said That they were busy and there was nothing they could do lol. I have never seen such ridiculous behavior in a restaurant or an apology like that. She didn't bother comping anything none of our drinks or anything on top of the fact that every other restaurant was closed by then we couldn't eat anywhere else sorry but this is absolutely unacceptable. We were there a total of 3 hours. 3!! I hope that the owner reads this review and makes some changes because other than the male bartender there. All the waitresses are rude so far can seem to get an order right on any occasion and act annoyed at all customers, and then don't care one way or another if you get your order. Very sad. I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone. You may not get your dinner if you go there. Hopefully you didn't get a baby sitter on top of not getting any dinner. If you dont believe me read all the other bad reviews there are plenty. Their food is decent so far but obviously that depends on if you actually get it. Not the first time with this problem that's why I'm writing a review and I will also speak...
