Nestled right on Washington Street in historic Sonora, Diamondback delivers big on both atmosphere and flavor—especially with dishes like the Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich (we couldn’t resist adding crispy applewood-smoked bacon) and the Braised Pork Tostada. Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich + Bacon The tender, marinated chicken breast arrives perfectly char-grilled, with just enough smoky char to complement the bright poblano-lime aioli. Piling on bacon was a stroke of genius: it adds salty crunch without overpowering the other elements. Each bite combines juicy chicken, melty cheese creating a “southwest fiesta” in your mouth. Braised Pork Tostada The house-braised pork falls apart at the touch of a fork, richly flavored from hours of slow cooking in their signature ancho-chipotle broth. Lay atop a crisp, house-fried tortilla,-bright notes that cut through the pork’s savory depth. You’ll taste hints of orange zest and toasted cumin in every forkful. Quality & Presentation Both dishes arrive artfully plated—nothing over-garnished, but each component feels thoughtfully placed. Portions are generous (you’ll leave full and satisfied), and the ingredients consistently taste as fresh as they look. Overall Diamondback’s blend of down-home comfort and inventive flavor profiles shines through on every plate. If you’re in Sonora and craving a bold, well-executed sandwich or a tostada that hums with layered spice, you can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend pairing your meal with a glass of wine for the ultimate Sonora dining experience.

In town for two nights. Had dinner here from hotel staff recommendation. Did not disappoint and was blown away at the size of the servings of dishes passing us as we got seated. The garlic fries and onion rings servings were huge. Then we saw the fish and chips passed our table. The size of the fish atop of a mountain of chips was like a 10 inch slab of cod. So impressive. Now our food, we came for two dishes that attracted us on the menu - artichoke hearts and baked Brie salad. You hardly find fried artichokes in restaurants these days. They were both excellent and lots of them.Light battered chunks of artichoke hearts with a garlic aioli dip. The baked Brie was served on a bed of dressed chicory leafy greens and cubed spiced apple. Again, the portion was ample. For entrée we shared their pulled pork which comes with a cup of light creamy chicken ranch soup. It’s also very unusual n tasty. The pulled pork was too sweet n mushy. Seems like it’s reheated many times. This is the only disappointed dish. Our dishes came without much wait at all for a busy time. The service was excellent and our server, Carrann, was friendly and helpful. She was a delight. Our overall experience was a good one. The dining room was full for a Monday evening. Keep up the good work.

Sadly, this is the worst review I have ever done. I walked in to order some food, while my family waited outside. The server walked up to the counter and told me to wait for then she walked away. I waited and waited and all she was doing was hanging out talking to one of the other waitresses. I then decided to be cheeky, and call in my order from the front desk, yes my phone was in my hand. As I knew she would see me (I was trying to make a point) The server put me on hold and proceeded to tell one of the other servers. So I walked out. If I’m standing at the front counter ready to order food, knowing exactly what I want why would she tell me to wait and then walk away?? To only linger and chat with other servers? Not worth my time. It was rude. Worst service I’ve ever received in any establishment.

I was served a rancid burger with a side of attitude! I ordered almost $100 in food "to go" for a mother's day picnic. Once at the park and we all started eating I bit into an awful tasting turkey burger. It even smelled off. I ate a few fries and enjoyed the conversation at the family gathering. Afterwards, I returned to dimondback grill and politely request a refund after explaining my displeasure with the meal and showing her that literally one bite had been taken. The person that I assumed was the hostess offered no apology and showed no concern for the fact that you could smell the rancid odor from inside the box. I was simply told that they don't give refunds. Now, I'm sure I wouldnt have been charged if I sent it back while dining in the restaurant, so this policy makes no sense in my opinion. In addition, the manager had an extremely bad attitude and refused to give me a gift certificate or anything IN WRITING indicating that I had credit for a future visit after verbally offering credit towards a future visit.

So...tomorrow I have a few hours to spare and I'm going to make some signs to protest outside the restaurant while dressed as Sasquatch. I plan to inform the public of their "Rancid w/o Refund" policy.

I tried being nice. The owners did nothing to remedy the situation after the manager stated that she had called them to ask their advice. I was treated rudly when I expressed my dissatisfaction toward the end of the interaction so I decided to record a small portion of the lack of customer service. She seems like the type to make up a story to cover her lack of management skills and poor customer care.

I've been a customer of this restaurant for over 10 years and I understand that mistakes happen. A representative of the business had the the opportunity to make this right and she chose to act...

Came in at 5:25 on Sunday, seated immediately (thru the kitchen - ? and into the wine room next door) and waited 20 minutes to get a waitress. Restaurant had three tables seated inside and four outside. Two other couples were seated after us in our room and one got waters from the person who seated them and then another set of waters was delivered by their waitress- still no one had talked to us. The waitress who was waiting on the outside tables cut thru our room multiple times and was obviously working hard. The three other waitresses on staff seemed to be utterly confused as to their tables and our waitress seemed almost bothered to help us. We did finally place our drink orders, my coffee was burnt, bottom of the pot on the burner way too long. Never should have been used. No silverware delivered with coffee. We then heard one of the other tables ask, "can we get a waitress?" Our waitress finally showed back up to take our order. We both ordered burgers and fries as this was supposed to be their specialty. My wife's was delivered without cheese and when she pointed it out to the waitress she said, "Oh, I forgot to ask you which kind of cheese." In the mean time, another couple had been seated at the bar, got totally ignored and just got up and left. ! At least four waitresses can't run less than 16 tables? There needs to be some serious training going on or if you can't staff and manage the place properly, just shut it down on Sunday. Burgers were OK but not worth $20, fries were good but whole experience trashed by service which went from bad to worse. With all the unhappy customers around us it wasn't just us. I hate writing negative reviews but this place needs...

I went with my partner yesterday to have dinner, this place came highly recommended and had great reviews. My partner ordered a bison burger and I ordered the braised pork tostada salad. We also ordered a half order of garlic fries. We only had water, so between those three items the bill was about 50$. Pricey, but that would've been fine if the food was good.

It was okay, very okay.

The fries were okay: the garlic was fresh and the fries were good. There wasn't as much garlic as I am used to, so I would ask for more garlic if I were to ever go again.

The burger, which we both tried: was okay. It wasn't spectacular, but it was good. I would expect more for 20$. I wished the patty was more flavorful among other things.

The braised pork tostada salad made absolutely no sense. They took a tostada, covered it in a side salad, and put the cheese and tomatoes they would've put on the tostada on top of the side salad. It was not a blended, tossed together salad where elements of the tostada intermingled with a salad to create something exciting. All the salad did was prevent the cheese topping from melting onto the tostada. Neither added anything to each other: the salad was coated in basic dressing. The tostada deserved its own plate. Also, there wasn't much of the fresh salsa they advertise on the menu in the dish. It was disappointing.

Very average food at above average prices. Don't order the tostada "salad".

Our server was lovely, they have no say in what they serve. The restaurant itself was nice, shabby chic. It looks like it used to have a bar, but now all they serve is...
