Updated: Friday 7/5/2024

Tom Yum hot and sour soup with chicken/thin slices of mushrooms. And chicken drunken noodles with fresh basil. As always, freshly served.

Thai Better added more tables/chairs. A nice, sunshine feel atmosphere.

Updates as of Monday, 5/27/2024.

Returned a few weeks ago. Came back for more (Freshly made Pad Thai & Drunken noodles) both with chicken/veggies.

Service is impeccable.

Generous portions.

Locations: Chinatown on State Street (will be open in one or two weeks, soon.......) The District (South Jordan) Saratoga Springs, Utah

Many good selections. Ordered at the front counter, select choice of meat, spiciness. You will receive a little black device similar to many restaurants such as Chili's, when your order is ready, it will beep for you to come pick up your order at the counter (stay or to-go).

Food Portion: 4 Taste: 4 Service: 4 Cleanness: 4 Presentation: 4 Prices: $ -$$

Steamed veggies are always cooked perfectly (not soggy, not watery, not overly done, just the right texture).

Casual dining, comfortable setting/atmosphere, stay or request to-go. A total of 5 table inside, 4 seats per table. A total of 20 seats. There are 2 other metal tables on the sidewalk with 4 chairs.

Drunken noodles was tasty.

Fresh diced mango sweet rice was good.

The self-service table is clean, help yourself with straws, napkins, cups, water, etc. There are lids for to-go and paper bags to carry your leftovers.

Plenty of parking in a strip mall. You clean up after...

We decided to do a progressive dinner for date night tonight and one stop was Thai Better. The four of us shared a Tom Yum and a Drunken Noodles and each couple shared a mini mango sticky rice. The Tom Yum was really good for a tomato-based soup. I don’t love tomato soups. 🤷🏼‍♀️ But with the rice it worked and had great flavor. The Drunken Noodles tasted a little bland in comparison but I like noodles so I enjoyed my share. The veggies were yum. The highlight of the visit was the mango sticky rice. We were all surprised when it came out because the rice was warm. The sauce was delicious and the mangoes added a little bit more flavor. It reminded me of a peach pie. I’d go back for that alone but we’re excited to try to Tom Kha (coconut version of the tomato soup) and massaman curry. The decor is interesting - a strange little baby-ish cartoon character in all the pictures. But the plastic forks and to go bags were all branded in such a cute way that I overlooked the baby. We figure it must be a chain somewhere else. It’s a little on the spendy side @ $12 per plate but that seems to be just the way of things here in SLC. All in all I’d recommend this place for a fast casual Thai food place. And if you go tomorrow remember to wish the friendly lady cashier a happy...

UPDATE BELOW: went in today and every table was dirty. there were only two people eating. the woman behind the cash register was hiding down below the counter and totally immersed in her cell phone and could not be bothered to greet or take orders, much less wipe off the tables. absolutely poor and rude. this place won't last long. You can see the owner response below. They clearly do not care about cleanliness or customer service because several others have said the exact same thing I said. They hired these two lazy people to work there and let them sit on their phones rather than do their job or even greet customers and take orders. The same two were there the last time i went in and i had to sit OUTSIDE because the tables were all sticky and dirty and there were ZERO customers inside. I don't care if someone uses their phone when nothing os happening, but when the place is a disaster and dirty... geez...That's just lazy and dishonest. Totally a Utah thing. Won't be back. And they won't...

I guess I'm just not quite understanding the hype of this place. My boyfriend and I went today and were thoroughly underwhelmed. He got the drunken noodles with chicken and I got the veggie pad Thai. We got the dumplings for an appetizer and he got a Thai iced tea (wanted a Thai iced coffee but they were out of coffee). The dumplings were the star of the show, they were great and set our expectations high for the main meals. Unfortunately they were very lackluster. The drunken noodles were so...confusing. It's like they couldn't figure out what they wanted to be, the flavors made no sense for drunken noodles. They had a very strange after taste. The pad Thai was pretty run of the mill, I've had better and worse. Maybe I need to come here again after the first bit of growing pains are out, I'm not sure. But as it stands this place was just not something I could recommend.

Decided to try this place tonight. It's close to us but had never gone there because we are used to family style meals at our favorite places, and this looked like it would be a fast food type of restaurant that couldn't be that good. I was wrong. The food here is really good. We ordered putt see eiw, putt Thai, yellow curry, egg rolls, and mango sticky rice. There is plenty of food for the two of us, and another couple more meals. Ordered on their site, and it was ready in 20 minutes to take home. The only thing with the food is that they don't add any spice, so if you want spicy, you need to add your own. We will definitely order from here again.
