The live band was super cool and inviting. The welcomer had a bubbly personality and seemed sweet. We ended up ordering a to-go order which they charge you for, 15% I believe. And although that was annoying I decided to still take a chance. I will say the cost of the food was not reflected in quality. The cheese fries I got were burnt, and hard. The fried pickles were a small amount and the cashier could not tell me the size of a portion. (How much does one serving feed? How are they portioned?) However, the small amount of fried pickles were really good, but the amount was just not a lot. The tater tots were hard and unseasoned. The only great part for me was the vegan burger they offer. It was amazing and I highly recommend it. After sharing my frustrations with the restaurant, Will (I believe) the manager did take care of the issues presented. Although the vibe of the restaurant was nice, it did not translate towards the To-go orders despite the price. I would recommend dining in instead and hopefully you'll have a more enjoyable experience.

The Chilli we purchased last night was terrible! I’m including a basic Chilli recipe ! My suggestion is that you use it to improve what you’re serving now$ How do you make good homemade chili? • Heat olive in a large soup pot. • Add chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes. • Add ground beef and break it apart with a wooden spoon. • Cook for 6-7 minutes. • Add chili powder, cumin, sugar, tomato paste, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional cayenne. • Stir until well combined • Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, and tomato sauce. • Stir well • Simmer for 20-25 minutes. • Let the chili rest for 5-10 minutes before serving The bowl of Chili below is the recipe suggested!

Under the circumstances the food was good. The staff was very friendly. I wasn't impressed with the A-1 burger or whatever their name is for it. I mean it tasted good but it was a VERY DRY burger. Fried pickles tasted like they come from a bag. Now the onion rings , probably the best onion rings I've had im a very long time. Maybe ever. I had to get my food to go because of limited seating with this covid lie going on. It was raining out but the staff was very prompt and friendly. I'd eat here again when things aren't so stupid and see if it is better. Looks like a cool place to hang out.

I’ve been a loyal Huey’s Southaven customer for years, but it’s hard to ignore the steady decline in service. Last night’s takeout experience was frustrating from start to finish. I called in a simple order: a buffalo chicken tender salad with extra ranch and mac and cheese for my daughter. After driving 10 minutes to pick it up, I walked straight to the takeout area where two employees were stationed. One was tapping away at a screen, the other glued to his phone. Neither acknowledged me . I spoke up and told them which order I was picking up. Still no acknowledgement. The man finally looked up once he was finished with whatever he was doing on his phone, grabbed my bag (which had been sitting 3 feet from him the whole time), and rang me up—no greeting, no sense of urgency, just disinterest. They automatically added a 15% service fee (about $4). For takeout, I typically don’t tip extra—it's not the same level of service as dining in. Maybe that annoyed him even more? I don’t know. Once I got home and unpacked everything, I realized the salad was incorrect—it wasn’t buffalo chicken. Annoying, but I was still willing to eat it… until I opened the ranch. It was so thin it looked like milk. Totally unappetizing. At that point, having just spent $30 for a salad and mac and cheese, I called the restaurant. The same guy confirmed they had a different batch of ranch and said they’d remake the order. Not once did he apologize. I drove back, handed off the incorrect food, and received the remake from the same guy—still no apology, just a blank, annoyed stare as if I was the problem. I checked the bag once I got into my car before leaving this time… and of course, they forgot the extra ranch I paid for. It had started raining, and I wasn’t about to go back inside a third time. After driving back and forth for 40 minutes, I was tired, hungry, and livid. I wasn’t expecting any sort of refund, nor did I ask. But common courtesy is at the very least to offer some sort of apology. Sadly, the people and service that once made Huey’s Southaven feel like a go-to spot just aren’t there anymore. Absolutely pitiful...

Our family absolutely understands how hard it is working for the public. We always try to be patient, clean up our area, etc. We went to Southaven’s Huey’s tonight and I ordered a Steak Stick snack. The menu says “with fries.” When my meal came out, without fries , I asked the food runner about this. She said it didn’t come without fries without an added charge but she could get me some. I then said that’s okay, don’t worry about it, the food runner immediately changed her tone. When she walked off, I even asked my husband did I sound mad for her to respond like that and he said no and was also surprised. I then asked the waitress and she told me the same thing and once again offered fries for an up charge. At this point I asked for a box for the steak skewer. After this point we didn’t get refills of our drinks for the remainder of our meal. At one point the night time manager came by our table and when I asked her again about the menu clarification and the fact that we haven’t gotten refills, she offered to get us refills and clarified that the meal, does in fact come with fries. Our waitress still never came to the table to offer a refill, a check, anything. The night time manager had to do all of this. Her answer to this is that the waitress is new to their location. We couldn’t help but notice all of her other tables around us were getting everything they needed. With staff like this, it’s not shocking that there are signs up offering to hire for all positions. We love Huey’s and have come for years with always the greatest experience. It’s mind boggling to us that we would have worse and worse service because we asked for French fries as the meal was advertised on the menu. Probably Karen behavior to make a post about it but damn, just wanted to let yall know to take what they give you, ask no questions, and don’t drink your water too fast. The manager had great service recovery and I do appreciate that. Unfortunately her staff’s rude and childish behavior...

On our trip home from Arkansas, my family decided to stop in for lunch. We stopped here based on the reviews I read online. We ordered the cheese sticks as an appetizer, and they were really really good. I ordered the ahi tuna steak sandwich, and this was the driest tuna I've ever had in my life. I had to add mayonnaise and ranch dressing to the sandwich just to make it edible because it was so dry. I was not asked how I wanted my tuna prepared to which I would have responded medium-well, but I don't think the cook would have known how to prepare that anyway. I also ordered the cheese fries with scallions, which is just a fancy word for green onions. They were steak fries and melted cheddar cheese with maybe a tbsp of green onions. By the time I got my food, the cheese had hardened. Worst cheese fries I've ever had. If you're going to use cheddar cheese instead of nacho cheese on fries, they must come straight to the table hot or the dish is ruined. The restaurant boasted having the award for best burgers in the Memphis area. My husband and one of our sons ordered different types of burgers and said they were alright. They said it's pretty hard to mess up a burger. One son, after being asked how he wanted his burger prepared responded medium-well. Needless to say, it came out well done. For dessert, I tried the lemon icebox pie. Worst aftertaste on a pie I've ever experienced. Plus, I believe it came from a box. We sat at a table near the entrance because it was quite crowded and this was the only table available. The tables were so close together that we got bumped every time someone passed by us. It was cold that day and every time the doors opened, we were hit with a blast of cold air. We all had to eat with our beanies, scarves, and coats on, which was very uncomfortable. I most definitely wouldn't...
