If you haven’t been to Mo’ Bettahs, it’s like missing out on a culinary luau in your mouth. Let’s talk about the stars of the show: the Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Katsu, and their irresistible Mac Salad.
First up, the Teriyaki Chicken. Imagine a chicken strutting down the street wearing a lei and sunglasses, radiating good vibes. That’s exactly what you get—chicken so flavorful and relaxed, it might just start doing the hula on your plate. The teriyaki sauce is a sweet, tangy marvel, like a vacation for your taste buds. Each bite transports you to a Hawaiian beach, where the sun is shining, and your only worry is getting sand in your flip-flops.
Now, let’s cluck about the Chicken Katsu. If the Teriyaki Chicken is the cool surfer dude, the Chicken Katsu is the party animal that shows up with a boombox and a case of aloha maid. This golden-fried wonder has a crunchy exterior that’s more satisfying than popping bubble wrap, but inside, it’s as tender and juicy as a beachside luau pig. Dip it in that magical katsu sauce, or if you’re feeling a little daring the spicy mayo and you’ve got yourself a flavor fiesta that might just have you dancing the hula yourself.
And then, there’s the Mac Salad. It’s like the chill friend who brings balance to the group. Creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet, this salad is the ultimate sidekick. It’s the culinary equivalent of a hammock between two palm trees—a perfect place for your taste buds to relax and take in the flavors. Each spoonful is a reminder that sometimes, simplicity is the best recipe for happiness.
In conclusion, Mo’ Bettahs’ has some ono kine grindz! The spicy chicken plate which is: Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Katsu, and Mac Salad isn’t just a meal—it’s a mini Hawaiian getaway. So, if you find yourself in need of a tropical escape but can’t afford the plane ticket, just head over to Mo’ Bettahs. Your taste buds will thank you, and who knows? You might even start saying “aloha” to...
Read moreThe reviews made us want to try Mo' Betta's for the first time. We ordered one of every thing, except the pork.
Katsu Chicken was tough, dry, and basically inedible string like chicken. Unless you want to chew and chew to hopefully dissolve some of it, it was like chewing on thin tough strings. Maybe a bad piece of meat?
Disappointed as this is the kind of chicken the kids typically will have, and compared to chicken from fast food places, this chicken should have been better?
For tender and delicious breaded chicken, we'll stay with Super Chix, KFC, and even Chic Filet.
The Teriyaki Chicken was good enough, but also very dry with lots of backyard BBQ burnt pieces. The steak was alright.
Sadly the white plain rice was the favorite of all the dishes. We won't be coming back anytime soon sadly.
Maybe the idea here is Mo' food rather than high quality meats? For the price I can see how one might feed the family, but the same price at other places and we finish all the food, where 75% of this went to the garbage due to the inedible Katsu, too many fatty steak pieces, & burnt to a crisp teriyaki.
Again, the rice was great as were the dipping sauces. Disheartened it wasn't as the reviews seemed to suggest. Will have to convince us to come back and try it again - as it was sub par for the price.
------- UPDATE ------ General manager reached out and apologized and committed to doing better. That is what is expected and...
Read moreAs much as I love the food here, I’m really confused why I’ve tried to order the same thing 4 different times, and even though it’s on my receipt, it never comes the way it’s ordered :( I’ve even tried ordering different plate sizes, kids meals, no matter how I try to order, I’m ALWAYS given the teriyaki chicken. I order double kalua pig (it’s my favorite), like I mentioned, it’s always shows up the way I ordered on my receipt, but, there has NEVER been a time I haven’t received teriyaki chicken. I personally am not a fan of the char, I don’t know how else to try and order and not get it, I’ve tried everything…. :( it’s not once or twice, it’s every single time I have ever eaten here. This time I ordered a tossed salad, and was indeed charged for it, but got Mac salad instead. I work in the food industry, and I definitely understand mistakes, and hate to leave reviews. I just can’t wrap my head around the fact I’ve been charged for what I ordered 4 different times, and it’s never...
