Very sad experience. I called during operating hours multiple times to place my order but the phone was not answered. After a half dozen tries, someone finally answered the phone and said they were closed. I asked what time they close and they said 7 p.m. I told her the current time was 6:55 and I was hoping to order food to go. She hung up the phone.
I arrived at 7 and walked in and found two tables of 4 diners still there. I said I had called at 6:50 and lost connection while trying to order at 6:55. The little girl at the cash register refused to take any order, told me I was rude and told me to leave immediately. I told her I drove in from California after an invitation from Niko's wife the owner, but realized it was getting toward closing so called to place order. I lamented aloud that no one answered the phone repeatedly. I was told to leave as she picked up the phone threatening to call the police.
This little girl seems to have no concept of running a business that has business hours, good manners or hospitality.
Capriotti's makes a great cheesesteak and Lucky's Bar and grill makes fabulous Greek food for a much better price with excellent service. I would give the Nikos experience a negative rating, if that...
Read moreNo coke, no unsweetened tea, the ONLY music speaker is sitting directly above our table, so we can't hear ourselves think. Rushed by the only waitress present to place our order bc they don't have more than 3 people working. Several people always standing at the door bc there's no where to sit. Limited menu choices, looks like it was written 30 years ago. Annoying wind chime on the door, when the place isn't even big enough to warrant it. My chair feels unbalanced. Lots of things noticed that don't make sense/work. I see these 'awards' for Best Greek restaurant - it must be bc they are the only one. Can't see why they are actually good. Food was the typical 'Greek' flavors you'd expect anywhere else, nothing original. At checkout, my receipt didn't look right, the 'waitress' ignored me until I walked away. 'Isabel' has a lot to learn. Especially with that attitude and willingness to follow and then argue with a customer who's already left the restaurant. Don't talk over someone directly after asking them why they have a problem with you. I've got a list of why you fail at your easy job. As a chef, I'm laughing, and I...
Read moreThis is a lovely place for a flavorful, wonderful meal. Easily a couple notches above simple fast food fare. The seasonings are only slightly different than my white bread self is used to, but familiar enough to enjoy(or maybe I'm just in denial about how much typical fare I consume) -thoroughly! I loved the street chicken & gyros, but the chicken skewers are sooo tender....oh, my! Literally the best chicken I can remember having. Like, ever. Huge mound of crinkle-cut fries, wonderfully seasoned & a fantastic blend of soft & crunchy pieces. The lentil soup is a clear base, heartier than I anticipated, very flavorful. & maybe it's been too long since I've had baklava, but their lusciously nummy morsels, perfectly sized to share, are a delectable end a fantastic meal! Staff is super courteous & attentive w/o being overbearing. Small, cozy, friendly & quiet each time I've visited. Get a bottle of Squirt & a cup of ice to have w/yer meal instead of the typical fountain fare. I'd even rather call ahead & get it to go here, than wait in a drive through anyway. If they have seats available,...
