Birdie's Pie Shop - Spokane — Restaurant in Spokane

I love the pie here, I used to drive out to Idaho to get it. Most of the time the pies are pretty good but on busier days the quality can sometimes drop. My biggest complaint would be the service. Don't expect to get served quickly here. It seems many customers are coming to the shop to get consultations for events or to learn more about the business so they take their time talking to the staff, and whether it's busy or right before closing the staff will take their time talking to people before they serve you. That's what happens to me whenever I come here, anyway. Every time I've come here I have had to stand at the cash register for several minutes before even being acknowledged while the customer in front of me talks the cashier's ear off. Then when I am eventually served a lot of the time they get my order wrong and I have to go back into the shop where I have to wait again because by now the cashier is talking to someone else. I will probably be ordering online and picking up from now on because of this. No one wants to be given the run around. It's a cute shop but not very welcoming to all. Also the parking is somewhat scary as you have to pull in to a tight alleyway off...

After seeing Birdie's advertising such delicious looking pies on Facebook, we were excited to try them. Unfortunately, that excitement turned to frustration due to the fact that we were provided no instruction as to how the pies needed to be prepared. We were promptly greeted at the door and given a "tour" of the flavors since we were first time visitors. I did take a photo of the reheat/bake instructions that were taped to the counter, though I didn't know which was correct. The presence of tables and chairs inside the bakery also seems to indicate that the pies are ready to eat.

After being unable to find additional instructions on Facebook or your website, we did attempt to follow the reheat instructions, which left the pie cold. We then put it back in the oven multiple times until we hit the bake time instructions. We were still left with a raw crust. We found no information on your website until selecting "Contact Now" and finally found the bake/reheat instructions again which obviously still didn't fix the issue.

Good pies, terrible pre-order service model. Prepaid for Thanksgiving pies. Birdies only provides the day before Thanksgiving for pick-up from 10 am to 4 pm. Called ahead before heading over to confirm pickup and given instructions to go up to counter to fulfill order. Upon arrival, a huge line was going down the block and was rudely given conflicting instructions to wait in this long line. Ended up leaving - I don't think it's reasonable to expect pre-order customers to wait in the same line as same-day customers, if so, what is the advantage of pre-ordering? Very unhappy with managements decision points to have pre-order customers waste time during the holidays yet still get paid for poor service delivery. Update: Family member waited in line for us and Birdies has run out of the pre-ordered pies. Unsure if Birdies will honor refunds for unfulfilled orders.
