Neato Burrito — Restaurant in Spokane

New to Spokane/ WA...a solid of top 15 (probably top 15) favorite restaurants I have tried. Spokane reviews from YPs to Yelp to Google Local...have been near useless to me. A Chinese place near me is hideous and some praise it as best Chinese in town...Frozen PF Changes is better. Back to Neato Burrito: Has that modern/ modern yet welcoming feel. They have a light bar (I do not really drink so haven't checked the prices on ETOH). They are very friendly...and great at helping indecisive-ADHD ppl like myself decide quickly on a delicious burrito... VEGAN Curry + Tofu is the way to to go. I can't comment on meat options but can't imagine they put out anything below a great meal. They have two diet options on tap (Dr.Pepper and Diet Pepsi)(BIG points for this diabetic). I would like a more eclectic vibe that could simply come from a decorator specializing in the mod-electic foodie scene. I wouldn't pass this up! $8 bucks for my fav. Vegan Curry Tofu the LARGE you can get a smaller portion for a proportionately cheaper price. Good higher quality ingredients simply make better food. Friendly service makes it better. As I said if I had to say one area for improvement is the semi stark modern sleek look...just needs a little more substance. This place is awesome. The food is well portioned and they put so much into one burrito it is amazing. I really like the atmosphere, although this is definitely not the place you want to go if you are looking for fancy dining. This is a down to Earth burrito place that hosts really cool events, which can get a little bit busy, but still keep the same atmosphere. They have amazing vegan options and you can get a lot of different burritos that have several options that can make the burritos so good. Something to note if you are nice the staff they will be nice to you they are some really amazing people. Also with the mask mandates back up you are required to wear mask when inside, unless sitting down and after 5:00 p.m. proof of vaccination is required due to them servering alcohol. Some people may think that these things are an issue but it genuinely adds to the very safe and open environment that this place creates. Important preface: The service was great and the place was very clean.

Unfortunately, the food waste tasteless. Tofu was gritty and overcooked. Somehow tasted totally unseasoned despite its color. The "peanut sauce" tasted like little more than just peanut butter.

The burrito was generous in size but lacked any other positives.

The way the tortilla was steamed results in a damp wrap. Mushy texture.

The cheese was almost certainly a "shredded mexican mix" from the grocery store.

The cabbage seemed to be of similar origin.

Plain, unseasoned rice. Not that it need be seasoned necessarily, but something should be. Beans are the same.

As a whole it was dry, flavorless, and genuinely disappointing. If you've ever lost your taste from covid and had a meal, it was like that. All texture. And for $14 dollars I felt like I was taken for a ride. This place has great reviews so I was pretty surprised how poor...
