UPDATE: 2-27-2022
Went here again, and it did not disappoint!! It was phenomenal. We started out with an appetizer of the Spinich artichoke seafood dip with chips. It was so good!
I tried the Seafood Stuffed Mahi Mahi, and I would definitely get that again. My fiance had the Parmesean Encrusted Red Fish. His was really good. I loved what I got, but we both agreed that his was just a little bit better...not much, but just a little bit. They were both at the top of the menu under Chefs Recommendations, or something like that. We both highly recommend those. We have never been disappointed by anything we have had here.
I would also like to point out that while we were vacationing, we have been at other Landrys locations...Branson, MO in specific and the St Louis location blew them away!! Their portion sizes were larger, and their customer service far exceeded the other one. Especially when it came to being a Club Select Member. The STL location is Top Notch when it comes to taking care of their Club Select Members. The other location seemed to act like they didn't know what that was. The hostesses that were seating people had NO CLUE at all what it was, and we were told that even though we had a reservation, they were busy and it was still going to be about an hour and 15 minute wait. We have never had anything like that happen in STL. Everyone there is awesome, and the service is amazing. We have never had a bad experience and every dish has always been cooked to perfection. ❤
UPDATE:
Went here again, Tuesday, May 18th, 2021. I tried the Sworfish, with Melissa sauce on top. My fiancée had the Fried seafood.. we split a lettuce wedge.. everything was delicious. We have never had a bad experience here..
We went here on a date night. We started out with the Calamari. We then split the wedge salad with blue cheese.
I had the COASTAL SEAFOOD PASTA shrimp, scallops, mussels, tomatoes, mushrooms, angel hair pasta, garlic herb olive oil $23.39 and added a lobster tail (which was HUGE! $20 to add a lobster tail to an entree.) Total for my meal was around $43
My fiancée got the BROILED SEAFOOD PLATTER mahi pontchartrain, crab cake, blackened shrimp $30.99
We had so much food, we both ended up taking about half our meal home. It was absolutely delicious.
Our entire meal with appetizer, shared salad, 2 entrees, and an added lobster tail was around $100. Comparable to Red Lobster 🦞, but tastes alot better. The food that we were served was VERY FRESH!! It did not taste like it had been frozen. It reminded me of eating seafood on the coast that was caught that day.
We ended up joining their preferred program. Its $25 to sign up, but you get a $25 gift certificate to pay you back. Its a one time fee, and is active forever. With being a member, you get preferred seating...meaning if there is a 2 hour wait, show them your card, and you are the next one seated. They also send you $25 every year on your birthday. They also send you promotional offers, and it can be used at over 670 locations, and gets you 10% off on preferred hotels and other things....definitely worth the money. Also, for every $250 spent, they send you a $25 gift card.
I would highly recommend this place! We will definitely...
Read moreHad the pleasure of dining at Landry's Union Station Friday evening 2/14/25. Upon walking in, an older black woman (the hostess) asked us if we had a reservation. We said we did not, she replied by saying "we aren't seating anyone else". Rather short and came across a little rude. Admittedly, her response left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Why did her response bother me? Because there were empty tables all over the place in the restaurant itself and the hostess couldn't care less to tell us to have a seat at the bar. I was actually ready to walk out when fortunately my wife said let's go sit by the bar. Sure enough, due to my wife's quick thinking- we grabbed an empty table in the bar area and were able to dine in.
I ordered a dozen oysters in the half shell. Full disclosure- they took about 20 minutes to make it to the table, and when they did, they didn't have any plates, or cocktail sauce, lemon, or horseradish (which all typically comes with the oysters). The server was visibly upset by the kitchen's shortcomings, but she ran over to the kitchen and brought us out plates and the accompanying condiments a few minutes later. That being said, the oysters were very clean, perfectly briney and delicious. Eat your heart out, Broadway Oyster Bar- these oysters easily rivaled your offerings!
I had the mixed grill with filet and lobster tail. The steak was cooked perfectly- they nailed it and the lobster tail was amazing. My wife had walnut and beet salad which she loved.
The drinks were phenomenal. Absolutely amazing. My wife had a cinnamon peach bourbon old fashioned which was probably the best old fashioned we've ever had before (besides the ones we make at home ;) ). I had a long island which was huge and made equally well.
I ordered another dozen oysters and the condiments and plates made it out along with the second dozen, lol. The server was apologetic about the kitchen's mishaps. She worked exponentially hard to make this a great experience- I wish I could remember her name, because even though the kitchen was dragging its feet, she did an amazing job for us.
The place closes officially at 10:00 PM and we were encouraged to take all the time we needed to finish up. We left at about 10:20 and there were still handfuls of people dining in and at the bar, which was nice to see.
The bottom line- I spent about $216 (not including a $50 tip) for two dozen oysters, multiple drinks, and our main entrees. The kitchen was backed up and they weren't even all that busy BUT the server we had was great. The food was delicious and the drinks were even better. And while the hostess was particularly rude and short- shoutout to the bartenders and the servers- keep up the good work!
Four stars. Some work to do on the service side, but it was 100%...
Read moreI’ve been thinking about this place for six months since I came here on my birthday, which was amazing when I came on my birthday. The service was amazing. I sat in a booth. This time I came in, and I sat at the bar me and my fiancé, The bartender Sayde, and I only know her name from the receipt after checking out. We were stereotyped, And judged. We had zero service she didn’t want to talk to us and it was hard to get her attention just to place an order, We waited a long time just to get drinks. I guess we didn’t look like we were big tippers, I started in a bartender world. I understand it. Just for her to communicate with the other team members and other guest so happily, But every time we get her attention, she rudely mugged us and said hold on, Is she did things for everyone else but us the whole time we were there for hour and a half. I placed my mail for the mixed grill and she didn’t tell me that they didn’t have every item for my dish. I noticed it after receiving it, which is why I bought this expensive dish. Didn’t even give me my side of shrimp as I asked, and when I asked her for it, she looked at me crazy and said do you still want it and once I placed the order they ran out of some of your ingredients!!! I find that crazy because she never told me she continued to place the order or didn’t ask me. Do I want to play something else? We were very uncomfortable. I had more communication with the guest that was sitting at the bar. Other Bartenders are people gave us our food. We didn’t have any silverware or any napkins and it was still hard to get her attention just to give us that so we can eat our food, but instead The other bartender came back as well to give us those things. She seemed very fun and joyful when talking to everyone else, but all of that changed dramatically when she looks at us are talk to us. We had to show her a picture of what we wanted because she was not helpful every time we asked a question about the menu. I am a chef and I have my own business and I am also a foodie, which I love adventuring and traveling to go eat. I never gave anyone a bad review at this place. I actually love this place. It was just the service. The food was amazing. It wasn’t the kitchen fault. But I would never sit at that bar again. I probably will be back because I like the food and the atmosphere. But I do not appreciate my service for a very expensive night that I waited a year and six months to...
