Sophie's Artist Lounge — Restaurant in St. Louis

Would never recommend this lounge for anyone, brought my friends here for their 1st time on 1/18, experienced racism and weird vibes from everyone.

First, the bartenders skipped over myself and friends several times after waiting patiently at the bar. Male patron butted us and mentioned they didn't pay for their drinks. The female bartender didn't care and said they were free. She knew them personally and left them get away with it while we just spent $50 on drinks standing right beside them.

When heading towards the exit, DJ Charlie Chan Soprano yelled "BYE ANIME BOY!" at my friend out loud on the mic. I heard snickers, laughs and everyone was staring at him. There was nothing done to provoke that racist comment and was uncalled for. For a space claiming to be safe for the community and locals, it was extremely inappropriate. He felt very uncomfortable and my friends and I are never coming back.

Have tried contacting Kranzberg through email and left a voicemail bringing this concern up. No response and shows their lack of attentiveness, standards and care for those they allow perform sets or acts...

Lovely venue. Absolutely the worst bar staff that I have ever encountered. I support many of the DJ's that are featured. I have been here several times in the past 2 months. EVERY experience is the same, slow, rude, inattentive bar staff. I easily wait 5-15 minutes to even be acknowledged by anyone. No its not the automatic 20% gratuity on all credit card transactions that bothers me. BAR STAFF SHOULD ABSOLUTELY GET THERES, its dope as a business you make a path for your service workers to be compensated properly. However, the staff you currently have in place are just taking advantage of this and providing service well beyond the minimum. I shouldn't have to wait for you to great your friends in between making my drinks then have to asked "what did you order again" after I've been waiting 10 minutes already. Maybe pull back on the pretty garnish , greet your customers, smile and push out some drinks. They are costGood day to youing you money...

I love this place! I have been here for 3 networking events and 1 time just with friends. Every time I came, they had switched out the galleries, so I got to see new exhibits. I'm really into art and an artist myself, so I really appreciate the galleries in this bar. They usually feature local artists, so that's awesome. The variety is super cool too.

The drink menu is extensive and delicious. Seems like they also switch up the drink menu to make things exciting too! Yes, they are a bit pricey, but I promise you are getting your moneys worth! They make the drinks really strong and they are big glasses! I've also had the mocktails here whenever I didn't feel like drinking and they were great too.

I also like the music they play here. It's so hard to find a decent DJ in the St. Louis area. Here, they hire DJs that play music I actually like and listen to at home. I will continue to support this place and host group events here. It's great, please...
