Sweet Tooth Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in State College

Owner was difficult to contact and rude when I did speak to her. About 6 months before my wedding I contacted Sweet Tooth Bakery. After several phone calls to the bakery, I finally spoke with Cheri on my 5th attempt. She proceeded to inform me that 6 months was too far in advance for her to schedule; she didn't know her kids school schedules and she didn't know what classes she may be taking. Cheri instructed me to call back about 3 months before the wedding. The conversation went downhill from there. As I prepared to end the call, Cheri started asking me questions, "do you even know where you are getting married? how many people are actually going to be there?". She actually scoffed when I told her my reception location and then proceeded to tell me that they were expensive. . When I inquired about a gluten free option for a guest with celiac disease, Cheri responded that she could do something, but with no guarantees that it would be gluten free nor that it would taste very good. Nice lady on the inside, but her reticence about tech & keeping up to date seems to have spilled over to the rest of the establishment. She kept people in the shop waiting while on the phone for reasons unknown (I wasn't particularly bothered but it is unprofessional). Messy, disorganized, selling stale overpriced tasteless food. I checked and she's up to snuff on food safety, however the presentation of the shop doesn't breed confidence in the safety of the goods sold.

2 stars as she's a nice person, but that isn't enough reason to ever bring my custom there again. Competition is fierce and this shop isn't long for this world if anyone comes...

Sweet Tooth Bakery made a BEAUTIFUL cake for our daughter’s birthday! My daughter said the cake was so delicious and she loved it!! Cheri was wonderful to work with and was so accommodating to our requests. This was a quick request on an already busy week for her bakery. Thank you Cheri for helping this out-of-state mom surprise our daughter with an amazing cake that also looked like a piece of art! And a shout-out to your delivery driver for making sure the cake was left in a secure way while my daughter was in class. Highly recommend...
