My wife ordered the steak tips with broccoli and of course the salad bar. The steak tips were cooked well and tasted good. The broccoli was well, broccoli and the salad bar was clean and stocked with fresh salad items.
While I have tried many times I am just not a fan of their steaks. Especially for the price is there. There are many better places to order steak. We ended up here because my wife likes it and we compromise often to suit each other. So, I ordered the fried white fish with onion rings and also got the salad bar. The Whitefish and onion rings came out hot. Both were a little bit on the greasy side for my tastes, and the onion rings were pretty much flavorless because of the Abundant batter on the tiny slivers of onions.
As a disabled person who must use a rollator, my biggest pet peeve occurred when I needed to use the restroom. The door on the handicap stall opened outward toward me. Apparently whoever designs such things have never had to use a rollator. Exactly how in the hell are you supposed to pull a door towards you when you have a Contraption on four wheels in front of you? This normally wouldn't be too big of an issue except there was no room to move my Rollator to the left or right of the door to open it . You are kind of Trapped in a little hallway of sorts between the wall and the non handicap stall door. Once in the handicap stall, it was nicely appointed and there were no issues once inside. There was plenty of room in fact so much so that it would have been easy to open the door had it opened inward.
The next issue came when washing and drying my hands. The soap dispensers are right next to the sinks and faucets which is where they should be. However, the paper towels are on the opposite wall from the sink. So, I had to push my Rollator with my wet hands over to the paper towel dispensers. The higher up of the two dispensers was out of paper towels and I had to stoop down while trying to balance myself holding my role later and using the paper towel dispenser that was only 3 ft...
Read moreI gave it a 1 🌟 as after issues with the service and meal and after talking to the manager for the second time, he attempted to make things right. After entering we were greeted and seated promptly. Things went downhill from that. The waitress took our drink order and our food order when she returned. Our order took 15 min to prepare and serve. My daughter ordered grilled chicken that was super thin and small in size. Had good grill marks on it but it was OVERLY cooked to the point it resembled chicken jerky. By the time our meals were served, the three of us not only got a salad from the bar, but all three of us had finished them as well as our drinks. A server from the kitchen delivered our meal and she politely asked if we needed anything else, we said yes more drink please. She sighed and treated us like we were an inconvenience but did get our drinks. Mind you we've been in the restaurant almost a half hour and we saw the waitress briefly for ordering and delivery of the first drinks. We did speak with the manager and he spoke with the waitress and things just tumbled down from there. Took 15 minutes to get the checks and then we waited another 15 min for the waitress to return and cash us out. Which she never did and had to get the manager to cash us out. Dispite the managers request and pleading that we return and give this facility another chance, I assure you that I nor my family will ever return to this...
Read moreMy family and I stopped at Hoss's on June 23,2013 and were extremely unhappy with the whole experience. We have stopped at this Hoss's numerous times on our way home from vacation and were typically happy with the service, this time not at all !! To start, the sign out front says add a hamburger to the salad bar for $.99, so I order this hamburger just to be told that that deal is not on Sunday. (not a huge deal, I understand they are just too lazy to change the sign) So I order a cheese steak and ask if there is onions or peppers on them and am told they do come with them so I ask the order taker to have it made without, there were two of them and they both repeated the fact that they were to order it without onions or peppers. In the meantime I decided to use the rest rooms where I was greeted to fluid (I'm pretty sure it wasn't water) all over the floor under the urinal. absolutely disgusting !!!! I then proceed to the salad bar and am greeted by wet plates, frozen ham that was dripping with the melting water, and what tasted like month old cucumbers. I then get my sandwich and it was loaded with onions and peppers and had more cheese whiz than meat. That did it for me. I will never eat at a Hoss's again and would definitely advise against anyone...
