Kingston Kafe — Restaurant in Stratford

I went to this restaurant the other day and the service was horrible. I was very disappointed because I come here often and support. Some Jamaican restaurants have a tendency to come off rude, but it was too far this time. I told the servers to give me two large oxtail she even repeated it. All of a sudden she packs two large jerk pork. Oxtail sounds nowhere near jerk pork. But the issue is the system in which they pack your food, instead of tending to one customer and making sure the food is complete, they try to do multiple at a time. Now that's not my issue, my issue is when I told her I said oxtail she had a big attitude. No apology for the error she made, she looked like she wanted to jump across the counter at me. The lady next to her started singing murder she wrote, enabling the bad behavior and actions of the server. This was very uncomfortable,I would have thought I was begging the food and not paying for it. The server takes my food in the back and does God knows what to it. Was gone for like 10 minutes, they kept serving other people in the line instead of making us fresh plates. It looked like she went back there and scrape off the jerk pork to put the oxtail on. Then came back, I paid for the food and left to avoid conflict. Even though the people there had no problem creating it. After they messed up my order. I threw the food in the garbage, for the simple fact she went it the back with it and had a dirty attitude. Recently purchased a meal from Kingston Kafe and I realized that they overcharged me in taxes for my meal. My order was a medium oxtail. Which came with rice and beans and cabbage. Here's why I gave Kingston Kafe one star. Everything on the menu has a small, medium, and large option except for the beef portion of the menu. The beef portion of the menu is priced up a lot higher than everything else on the menu. My meal was supposed to cost $17 plus state tax which is a tax rate of 6.35%. In total my meal should've been $18.08 approximately. But Kingston Kafe charged me a tax rate of 7.35%. And claimed that this was the tax rate for 4 years. I confronted the cashier about the amount I was being charged. The cashier was adamant about the tax rate even after I showed her the correct amount on a calculator. I asked for the proper change one last time and the cashier refused. I then asked for a receipt and explained how I would report them for over charging all of their customers for 4 years in sales tax. I will be bringing this information to the attorney general's office Monday morning all the cashier had to do was admit the fault and refund the correct amount in change. Now they might become victim to a class action lawsuit.

Just left here a few minutes ago . I used to come to this place all of the time because their Ackee & Salt fish is good and they used to always have it at any time of day . Today when I went I asked for a medium Ackee and salt fish and only boiled dumplings and sweet plantain , like I always do . She put two boiled dumplings in a medium pan and said "do you want fried dumpling because we don't have anymore boiled " I said no I'll have plantain with it . Then she goes "I'm going to make it a small and put it in a small container " then proceeded to give me the last little bit of Ackee and salt fish they had left . Instead of saying she will charge me less she kept asking if I wanted more sides . If I wanted more sides than my actual meal then I would've ordered dumplings , plantains , banana & yam with a side of Ackee ! My friend also always orders his oxtails with jerk sauce / gravy on the rice . He literally asked twice & of course he opened his container when he got home to find dry rice !
