2 weeks ago I would have given 5 stars gladly. Floods serves excellent, delicious food, has a wide range of beers to suite your palate and despite being noisy and crowded I've always been happy to be there and I always tip over 20%. Tonight however after our waitress took our order, we waited quite a while for our beverages, then finished them, then watched the ice melt in them into drinkable water without seeing her come by to say a thing. It took so long other tables arrived, ordered food and received it before we even got a refill. We waited over 50 minutes for any of our food. 3 tables immediately next to us arrived after us (with more people), ordered wings also and all received theirs ahead of us. It took so long for our first drink refill that the ice left over from my beverage mostly melted. The waitress was so abrupt and fast the one time she stopped by saying something about "it's taking a while" that we literally couldn't even say something to her to ask about what was actually going on. I finally asked another waitress (who was being attentive to her friends at the next table) to send a manager. I see him behind the bar, she talks to him, but he waited until after our food actually arrived (entrees first) to ask how things are going. I politely introduced myself, said I've been there numerous times and love their food but that I was concerned about the wait. He gave a half hearted excuse about their tiny kitchen and inability to keep up on wing nights. Except I've almost always been there on wing nights, numerous times with the crew from my work, several times with friends, and several times with my wife for date night, all on Tuesday nights.
Previously we've had attentive waitresses, and great food, and acceptable waits whether totally slammed or not, however, the least the manager could have done is offer SOMETHING in the way of a practical apology, like a round of drinks, or a coupon, or anything more than an excuse that doesn't excuse whatever error resulted in us watching several innings of baseball over empty cups. At the very least he could have come right over and said he was going to get into the kitchen and make sure our food came right out and gave a sincere apology without excuses. In fact, the table immediately next to us that came in after us was discussing "just waiting for their bill" before I even tasted one of my wings. The food is delicious but after this round I don't think I'll be referring my friends there anytime soon. Great food, but if you spill the milk, you should at least offer the towel to clean it up with. Still tipped, but...
Read moreI have never been treated so awful and subhuman in my life. My mom and I went to eat here today, my mom has Multiple Sclerosis. She avoids using a wheel chair by walking with her service dog. Thank goodness for her service dog, because the dog helps her go to places that she wouldn't normally be able to like this restaurant - which is not handicap accessible. After ordering our food and sitting for 20 minutes, the bartender made his way over to us, and without apology or sympathy said "I need to ask you to leave, we don't allow dogs here". After we explained to him he cannot kick us out or refuse to serve us because it is THE LAW to allow a service dog EVERYWHERE, he continued "we checked with our lawyers about this already, we can kick you out, its not illegal." This continued even after my mom whipped out her department of disabilities law book that she carries with her for unfortunate/ignorant situations like this. He still insisted we leave, until I said he can either call the cops or we are happy to sue him, and to please get the manager. He said the manager was not in and would agree with everything he said. We would have left immediately, but it took my mom enough effort to walk the steps and we were starving after 30 minutes of waiting and arguing. So we ate and left. I was tempted to continue to educate this man on 1- how to treat a human being with or without disabilities like a human being and 2 - the laws in this state, that if he does not recognize, could threaten this managers business entirely. This is discrimination, disgusting...
Read moreHORRIFIC. Short review: - bad meat-absent service- unsafe conditions with or without covid. Long review: i don't even know where to start. First of all, safety. The only person in there with a mask is the waitress, Gabby. The bartender didn't even attempt to have one on. Not even the fake under the nose. Just absent of one completely. There were regulars going behind the counter to hug and kiss the waitress, also no mask. Second safety issue. I got the French dip- sliced beef so old it was heavily tinted. Aside from that it was a mostly fat cut on stale flaking bread. Service: aside from the 15 minute wait to be acknowledged to get CURDLED milk coffee and a soda on the back patio and order. It was an additional 38 minute wait to get that coffee removed and then another 15--20 minute wait to get our food after that. Nobody, including the people next to us appreciated the condescending "PLEASE don't break our glasses" that came with our drinks. I'm assuming that's a regular occurance based on bees and flies scaring people and the tables wobbling around everywhere. Above all the service was subpar. Some people got great attention, some got no attention. It's very patterned and if you've ever been denied service before, I know you understand. This place definitely caters to a certain demographic and it's NOTICEABLE. Prices: not the worst, not the best. I really cannot understand the extra charge I wasn't informed about when I was asked if I wanted...
