As someone who lived in S. Korea for a time, I was not at all pleased with my experience at Korean BBQ & More. I ordered the Japchae with beef and my wife ordered the beef bulgogi. I knew something was off as soon as I received my order. What struck me first was the ingredients used. There was the essential spinach, carrots, and onion, but there was also bell peppers and wood ear mushrooms (which I like, but found it strange to be in this dish). Secondly, the previously mentioned ingredients were barely cooked. It was as if they were thrown in just before serving. This wouldn't be a huge deal if the flavor was present, which it wasn't. Japchae is supposed to have a peppery umami flavor, unlike the version I was served. The portion size was good, but I did not finish it as I normally would if the flavor was worth the discomfort. The beef added to the japchae was the same as the bulgogi. That is to say, it was thick, dry, and of the wrong cut of meat. Bulgogi, the most ubiquitous Korean dish out there, should be very thinly sliced beef (usually ribeye) and in a small amount of its own sauce with cooked onions and carrots. This particular dish only came with the meat and green onions as garnish. The kimchi was literally made from a cole slaw mix with a vaguely kimchi flavored brine. Also pretty dry. The service was fine. Instead of being asked about drinks, we were (I guess) expected to know to get our own water and where to find it. It's a minor issue, but still. I had high hopes since I had found a relatively inexpensive Korean restaurant, a rare commodity to be sure. What I really found was a Korean restaurant in name only. In the future, I will continue to spend a little extra for actual Korean food elsewhere.

Paid around $27 and really did not get a lot of food at all. The miso soup and kimchi were ok but they barely gave any kimchi. The noodles were decent but the veggies were just barely cooked at all, bell peppers and onions couldve passed as raw. The white rice was ok but you could make the same in a rice cooker at home. The beef bulgogi was kind of bland and had no sauce. It barely had any flavor and I had to add salt and pepper myself which didnt help much at all. Portion sizes were very small for the price. Disappointed in my experience, food was a 6/10 but for the price its a 4/10. Thought it would be good from the reviews but this was shocking. Seemed like no effort or care was put into making sure my food tasted good.

Korean food is one of my favorites, and this place does it justice! We ordered Japchae with Beef and Beef Bulgogi for takeout, and both came with rice, kimchi, and miso soup. I called to order ahead and by the time we got there the food was done right on time. The miso soup was very nice, the japchae is delicious and the kimchi's some of the best I've ever had! I wish that the bulgogi meat was a bit juicier, but for the price it's a great value. One thing that was an issue was that we found hair in both kimchi containers. The kimchi was so good that I didn't care, but if the person handling the kimchi could wear a hairnet this experience would've been perfect. Would definitely stop by again!

There was a small line when we arrived, and the single waitress took multiple phone orders as we stood first in line, so by the time we placed our order we werent surprised when she told us there'd be a long wait. We asked for our order to go, she asked if we wanted to go cups and we said yes. Because of the long wait and the free kim chi (the whole cramped place smells like its been pickled in kim chi) my partner went and got a bowl of kim chi. When he sat down the waitress huffed, So i guess you dont want your to go bowls and slammed them down. My partner is non confrontational and didnt know how to respond so said nothing but kind of grinned as if she might be joking. When our order was finally ready and the smell of pickled puke breath had marinated my lungs we politely asked for our to go bowls which were still sitting out. The waitress irritably countered that we had said we didnt want them. This led to a very awkward persistent back and forth as she repeatedly refused to hand over a to go bowl for our food, with her pointing to the place she had slammed the bowl and reenacting the experience from her point of view, and us politely insisting we'd wanted a bowl. Customers were starting to turn and watch. They were probably thinking, stupid Americans. Finally she surrendered the coveted concave styrofoam dish to us so we could leave with our food. I was so galled by what had to be the rudest customer service i had ever received but my partner insisted I not complain. After seeing similar (albeit less detailed) reviews, I wonder if any of the cooks or managers are aware of how this one snobby, scantily clad english speakers behavior deters business, or if she has any other redeeming qualities? My partner insists the food (9.99 beef plate) is amazing but i was too mad to eat. Will update to 5 stars upon hearing of staffing change--in the meantime,...

I went there yesterday after reading the reviews on here and it being down the street I went. There is no printed menu so much as they have a marker board where the menu and prices are written on daily but I see nothing more than $12. I had the Korean Beef. Sauteed beef with sesame seeds and green onions. It comes with white rice. Very good and delicious. I am going again today and maybe trying one of their soups. Just be warned that it could use a bit of house cleaning.

Edit: I did not try one of their soups because it had noodles in it and I am not a fan of thick noodles in my soups. I did order the Rice Medley and the Unagi(Eel) Bowl. The rice medley is basically a little white rice surrounded by various vegetables such as red peppers, seaweed, onions, some kind of pickled vegetable(maybe daikon?) , carrots, and some other veggie I ca not make out. It also has sauteed beef on the side and a egg on top with a little Sesame. Came with some soy based sauce. Not bad really. It is more of a sampler salad in my opinion.

Unagi Bowl is a nice sized piece of (barbequed?) eel with fish egg on top. It sits on a bed of lettuce, carrot and onion and comes with white rice. Very delicious.

In fact for me the best way to enjoy the flavors is to have the rice + the main meat or veggie in one bite together.

They still do the free Kimchi and soup. The tea, coffee, and water is free as well. What a excellent way to pass time while you wait...
