Great food; great price! It's TRULY amazing this chain has not expanded! Compared to most fast food/restaurant HYBRID dineries, they give you a large amount of REALLY GOOD FOOD! Note: Due to my job, I live b/t my birthtown in Socal & Texas. Granted, they are headquarted and started in Texas but as much as I love Cali food, there should be many of these in Cali...especially SoCal; this is an awesome franchise to anybody who wants to make a LOT of money & get both a large & quick ROI! There are almost 50 locations in Texas & New Mexico & only ONE in SoCal?!? This is definitely "American Southwest" style food which, despite any arguments, Temecula to AZ, NM, & [@ least] WEST Texas are certainly part of the "American Southwest! There are those that will argue Southern California is not part of the Southwest when in fact it is! I will concede that beach front cities are likely not included in the American Southwest but Temecula is definitely a Southwest, desert climate. One only need to look at their climate on Wikepedia and confirm this! You could pick a city at the other extreme like, Midland/Odessa in "far*" West Texas, and you would find the climate, precipitation, etc. is almost identical. Ergo, there's really no argument; the numbers speak for themselves.
It's hard to refer to this as fast food in the traditional sense; I refer to it is fast food because of the speediness of receiving your food which is not under some heat lamp! They actually make your plate right in front of you.
** I refer to Midland/Odessa (granted, larger pop of....1/3rd million) as far West Texas when comparing places like the 1st Rosas in San Angelo, TX...east of the aforementioned and a completely different climate; would not compare to Temecula (3 lakes, a much greater annual rainfall, a river that runs through the entire town with boat rides (a mini "Riverwalk" as they have in San Antonio...one of my personal favorite desinations when i go to Texas....just dont go in the Summer! To us native Californians, the humidity in Summer will kill you!! I digress. Build more Rosas in Southern California!!!!!! Visit this one & with one meal, you'll...
Read moreThis was a hard review to write. As I walked out of the restruant I was so perplexed of trying to classify what type of restruant I had just dined in.
Aesthetically, this is a 5 star Mexican Restaurant. But the stars start falling from the sky once you finish ordering.
Our order was ready in approximately 4 minutes, heck often Taco Bell takes longer. I wondered of how could they create fresh authentic Mexican dishes in such a short amount of time.
As I started consuming my dinner, I ceased to wonder, as the food reminded me of food that is served at the Knott's Berry Farm Fiesta Village take out diner.
My combo plate consisted of a taco, a tostada, a tamale and an enchilada with rice and beans. The tamale was dry and very manufactured. The enchilada with red sauce was tasty. The taco was at its best a Taco Bell premium taco. The tostada resembled and had the texture of a salad on a wet paper towel. (WARNING- if you order a tostada, eat it first before the tostada shell becomes spongy). The beans and rice were actually the most authentic tasting items on my plate, they were yummy!
The cantina was very, very clean. As I said earlier, the aesthetics were spot on, you really feel like your in a cantina south of the border. The food failed to compliment the cantina's appearance and expectation.
Why the loss of three stars? The food was very disappointing. Overpriced for the quality. Based on experience, I would not recommend or return for a...
Read moreWe spent over $50.00 on Food yesterday and it was unbelievable how small the portion sizes were. We couldn’t believe that they served us that food. Where was the Chicken and the Beans? and why hardly any food in our food containers. We all were still hungry and I was so embarrassed that I brought that meal to my 80 year old parents. My father’ Taco salad was missing the beans, and he barely had chicken in the salad..my Mother and me had the Chicken Tostada, and where was the damn food?! No Chicken, just a few pieces and no beans. The lettuce looked like they threw it in as an after thought. My husband wanted something different, because he said he’s always hungry when we get food to go from Rosa’s. I seriously felt like crying. They forgot to give us the Avocado dip, so when we went to collect our money back, the young man at the counter was kind and gave us a refund. He told me that the Owner of Rosas told them to cut their portion sizes back on purpose. How do you justify raising the prices on your food, but give NO Food. I never wish ill will on anyone, but if Rosas Closed up, I wouldn’t care one bit! Shame on you for basically stealing people’s hard earned money in an economy where people are struggling. So many years we supported your restaurant and have eaten there during Covid to keep your Restaurant opened. Nope, NO more we keep giving you chance after chance and we have NO More...
