Of the times that I've eaten at various locations of The Cheesecake Factory, I didn't expect anything short of a hot, fresh, tasty meal. In this case, the unexpected happened; I was given a cold plate of food, not once, but twice. Let's get into this.
First, let it be noted that the meal prices have soared since my last visit at the Cerritos location back in December 2022. At the Temecula location, I ordered the grilled steak taco plate. It came with (4) very mini tacos, rice, and beans. The cost of that plate - $21.95 - yikes! To drink, I had peach lemonade and ice water.
Nevertheless, I got my plate. My hunger was real. I dug into those tacos. After I heaved my first taco, which didn't take much time, I noticed that the second taco took a dip in temperature. I powered through it. I switched over to the rice and beans - cold. š³ I took a bite of the 3rd taco - cold. š³
Something's gone wrong. So I told my gf, the obvious, that my food is cold. I gave her a bite of my rice and beans and taco. Her eyes lit up. Disappointed as me, she waves her hand to our waitress and we tell her about the food.
Immediately, the waitress handles it. She apologizes and gets her manager. The manager was cool. He asked me what I would like to do to make it right. I told him I'd like to have a fresh hot plate of what I ordered. In addition, he offered me a complimentary desert. I was like, okay šš½! I ordered the vanilla ice cream with apple crisp bites - I can't remember the exact name.
Welllll....(sigh) renewed plate comes back - food- cold š¤Æš¤Æ š¤Æ!!! Without further ado, I slid the plate to the edge of the table. I called the waitress back, she took the plate, and I requested to have the meal removed from the bill.
By the way, my gf used to be in the restaurant biz, and she gave me the 411 on what food temps have to be when the food is served - 140 degrees fahrenheit or warmer. The temp of my plate was nowhere near that. Not to mention, I wasn't given my ice cream apple crisp desert. š«£š
Suffice to say, we paid for the remaining meals and nicely tipped the waitress and bought (3) slices of cheesecakes; my mother couldn't resist š¤·š½āāļø. On the way out, I spoke with the manager again. He told me that he gave specific instructions to the chef about the food. But apparently, it fell on deaf ears. I didn't get nor did I stay for the ice cream. So, the manager offered me a complimentary slice of caramel apple cheesecake.
I've had far better experiences with The Cheesecake Factory, so this experience won't be a 'one and done' scenario. They'll still get future business from me. If anything, I'd highly recommend that with the high cost of eating out nowadays, they'd better get their food preparations right. Otherwise, they'll be losing a significant swathe of their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible experience after being a local thatās been coming to this establishment for some time now. I admit there are ups and down to this establishment, but this last experience was enough to get me to come on a leave a review.
Our first server didnāt put our order in After he went on break we were given a new waiter and asked if our original waiter had put our order in. Come to find out he didnāt. We didnāt get even a glass of water until almost 30 minutes in. After we got our water, we finally got to place our order. A whole hour goes by before we even get our first order. At this point more than an hour goes by because our original waiter, manage to come back from his break and be the one to deliver our meals to the table? We returned a burger of all things and had it canceled because it was burned. Who TF plates this and says serve it?
Total time we were there 1 1/2hrs before we even got anything. Staff was not at all attentive, we watched 3 other families that got seated after us receive their meals. In the span of almost 2hrs of sitting, waiting, trying to āenjoyā what time I had left with our friends, we only received 2 refills of water and soda. Seen both our waiters a total of 4 times. My wife facing out of the booth tried numerous time to flag someone down to at least pay attention to our table.
At this point weāre irritated, I get it if I pass as one of āthoseā customers in the 5-10 seconds you decide to look over after I literally had to raise my voice to get some kind of attention from at least 5-6 waiters and staff in one area Is ridiculous to think about.
The one thing thatās annoyed me the most was knowing that there was in fact a large group of waiters, staff standing by the round table for check-in. Just conversing with each other, no attentiveness to customers, Iām sure as any other person would more than likely be gossiping about other things. If you arenāt coming in to work, donāt expect to get paid. Simple as that.
For any managers or regional managers who will be reading this review, because Iām sure you will as someone who is a business owner as well. Review your security cameras and make it a habit to see how your workers are truly treating your company, no surprise, Iām sure youāve seen it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGross food, spacey service.. Not worth the money anymore.. We paid $155 for a meal here for a family of 3. Food was gross. We got the shepards pie (to DIE for at Esco location).. it was tasteless and there was so much grease, it was pooling around the meat.. you could push the food to one side and the pool of meat grease was approx 1/4 cups worth. Same with a steak we got (you know a $45 steak).. it came with green beans but the green beans were covered in smoke flavored grease that was so bad that no one could even eat them... kid hated grilled cheese. Cheese was cheap kraft cheese slices and barely there. Family member who got Shepherd's pie, completely was sick that night from all the grease. The non- alcoholic spritzers were almost $13 a piece and literally you get about three good gulps out of them. The waiter NEVER ONCE asked if we wanted a refill of bread or drinks.. we even tried placing the empty glasses and empty Bread Basket at the end of the table to see if she would notice.. she kept walking passed us and was attending to the tables around ours.
Then we went to the togo counter to get the cheesecake.. there were two ladies.. a line of people waiting.... and we all watched as they did everything, including refilling containers and topping things off that had nothing to do with the orders that were placed... So we waited 15 mins for our cheesecake... with no one ahead of us. There was also this really creepy, intended to be hidden, assortment of plain cheesecake with strawberries on them sitting behind the fake plants at the to go counter on plates.. as if they were just sitting out waiting for someone at a table to order them. But they were totally in the breathing space of people waiting for the togo counter and they were completely uncovered not to mention sitting below a dusty fake plant it was pretty disgusting... there was around 10 of them.. just sitting there in the open air.. Oh cheesecake was ok. Nothing special in the least bit, only ate half sliced, then tossed.. Hope no one got sick! Wish we could get...
