North Italia — Restaurant in Tempe

The food was very good. Loved the simple salad. We also got the spicy meatball pizza and Lasagna Bianca. We sat at the bar as typically we find that we get the best service at restaurants at the bar. This was not the case for this particular visit. We received water when we first sat down and our beer, and then were not checked on to place our food order for at least 15-20 minutes. Not even a, are you ready or look from the server. As he was filling drinks near us, we asked if we could put our food order in. He took the order, went to the POS but either didn’t hit save or send as our food did not come out until more than 25 minutes, and after we asked a different server about it. Everyone around us got their food before us, not a huge deal. When we said something to a different server, she looked for it and couldn’t find it and then our original server looked as well. Not once ever addressing us or saying, oops sorry, I’ll put it right in. I think accountability and speaking with us can save any mistake. Then all of a sudden our salad showed up, but the food still took longer, because they just put the order in. Our original server totally avoided us the rest of the visit. The girl server was apoligetic and even took off the beer (that was rang in after happy hour since the price was wrong). To try and remedy the situation. Which was super nice and probably saved...

Went here for my 1 year sobriety anniversary/date night and had a FANTASTIC time!

I mostly picked this place for their dedicated zero proof menu and ive been to their Scottsdale location before. I got the Just Peachy drink and it was GOOD.

Ordered the Calamari, white truffle garlic bread to start and i felt like i was on a rocket ship as it was out of this world!

Then i got the Ricotta Cavatelli and my boyfriend got the chicken parm. SO GOOD.

We ended on a great note with dessert as i got their white chocolate apple butter special and my boyfriend got the tiramisu. My boyfriend isnt the biggest fan of coffee and he LOVE it and i LOVED my dessert too!

I will say the best part was our server Alyssa! She was super attentive and a good vibe! Made us laugh a lot and just a great person to talk to!

We have been disappointed the last two times we've been here. Not sure what's happening at this location. Last night service was extremely slow, waitress (doubling as full-time bar tender) was very inattentive, we had to get up and order our own drinks from the bar. We waited about 40 min for our appetizer salad to arrive with no utensils on the table that entire time. Then we waited another 45 min for our main meal to arrive. My husband's pasta was so undercooked he could not eat it. The assistant dining room manager was called over, he was polite enough and then he called over the location manager who then comped the inedible meal and agreed to replace it with a different meal to-go. We really like this restaurant chain. We love the Gilbert location and had high hopes for this Tempe location as it is closer for us but sadly two strikes and we will be taking a long break from returning...
