UPDATE So not only did they not care about my service the day I wrote this review, they still don't care about it now writing this. They reached out below in which I emailed them. It took 4 days to get a reply of "the manager will reach out in 4 days". Eventually they felt the need to get around to it, asking me to call. I replied I wanted it handled in email because I work for a living and don't have time to call. I never got a response back, so IHop really doesn't care about the customers. It's just about the money. I'd avoid this place at all costs. It should be -5 for customer service.
I love IHop and have since I was a child. Unfortunately this expirence has soured my love for it beyond the need to come back. My server Rebecca, from the beginning, rushed us out of the resturant. Normally you expect to come in, look at the drink menu, order a drink, and then look at the food and decide what you want. She immediately asked us before even sitting us down what we wanted to drink, and then came back 3 times in ten minuets asking what we wanted to order.
At that point I ordered the first thing that came to mind because I felt rushed and uncomfortable and unwanted. She then argued with me about what I wanted vs what I ordered and asked for (a simple substitution of pancakes vs French toast) and made me feel like I needed to order something I didn't even want.
The portions are small, and the food was bland. The eggs were greasy and slimy, the bacon felt like it had been microwaved and left under a heat lamp for hours, she didn't offer us any other syrup than the bland old fashioned that was watered down. We had to ask for another server (who was wonderful) for any other flavoured syrups. Then told they didn't even have any other than an incredibly sweet watery blueberry syrup. Mom wanted hot tea, but they didn't have any other choices than chamomile which outs you to sleep and has a very strong uninteresting taste.
I won't be coming back here again. This was supposed to be for my mom, celebrating her birthday and having a relaxing enjoyable breakfast, but instead I'm angry, and feel ripped off 30$ because I was rushed out. I saw other patrons being able to take their time and enjoying themselves with the other staff who was amazing. She made me feel as if I wasn't wanted and they didn't want my money. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Please don't go...

A few days ago, my friends and I went to IHOP. We ordered two cold coffees, a quesadilla, and a junior cheeseburger with sides. The food was good enough, but what happened after was absolutely ridiculous.
We’re international college students, struggling with finances, tuition, and the absurd cost of living in the U.S. We couldn’t afford to leave a tip after paying our bill. Two minutes after leaving the restaurant, the server chased us down in the street and confronted us. He had the audacity to ask why we didn’t tip him, like we owed him something. We explained our situation politely, that we’re students and that it’s already hard enough to pay for food here, let alone tipping on top of that. He finally backed off after we explained it wasn’t about his service.
Feeling bad, we decided to go back a few days later to tip him, just to make things right. But instead of being grateful, this guy takes a seat with us and says he doesn’t even want us dining in if we aren’t going to tip! He suggested we take our food to go instead. He claimed he felt “uncomfortable” serving us again without getting tipped, as if we were personally attacking him by not tipping the first time. We came back with the intention of giving him a tip, and instead, he made the situation even worse.
We didn’t disrespect him at any point, but this is beyond unacceptable. Tipping is not mandatory, especially when we’re financially struggling, and his behavior was not only unprofessional but completely out of line. This experience made us feel disrespected and uncomfortable, and honestly, we won’t be coming back. If you're an international student or anyone who can't afford to tip, beware—this server might chase you down in the street like you owe him something.
Absolutely disgraceful. IHOP needs to train their staff better on how to treat their customers with respect.
Also him saying he works hard ( i am not trying to judge ) but the restaurant was almost empty. I also have a small video which was recorded secretly which if required can be shown . I am not posting it right now because i dont want to upload due to the privacy...
Read moreFirstly, my poor waiter was very sweet. He was doing the best he could with the toxic work environment. The girls in the kitchen were audibly fighting and screaming obscenities at each other. Took about 10 minutes for him to come greet us (should have been the first queue to leave), and poor thing was doing the most to deal with the conflict. Once seated, we got our drinks fairly timely, but the coffee was cold. After finally ordering, it took over an hour to get our food, and honestly a good waiter wouldn't have even served the "food" that was on those plates. 1 plate was missing 2 pancakes, the other was missing 1 pancake, and it was the wrong eggs Benedict (ordered pesto and received poblano pepper). The eggs were so over cooked the inside was too cooked to make deviled eggs, let alone the "poached" it was supposed to be. The eggs and poblano mess were over cooked and did not even cover half of the English muffins they were sitting on. The "pancake" that was actually received had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period of time, as it was hard, and stuck to the plate. Still better than the sad excuse of "hash browns" which were barely cooked and felt steamed vs fried. The bathrooms have a code lock on them, which is silly because one stall doesn't shut and the other's lock is connected with only one screw... while I was in there, one employee was getting dressed while having a break down. Poor thing was very sweet, but clearly stressed ...idk about you, but I've worked at a few restaurants, I ain't ever had such a bad day that I needed to breakdown in the restroom. Think this place needs new management cuz y'all have sweet employees who are living in hell...after it was all said and done, they still charged me for my $15.99 Benedict. They used the excuse that I ate the hash browns so they could remake it or give me 15% off... like seriously take the $15.99 and charge me the $3 for hash browns, that's fine, I ate those nasty cold raw hash browns cuz I was STARVING... whatever I left and paid, but I ain't ever going back, that was ridiculous l! I hope all the positive employees find new jobs, cuz they...
