Important note: this Starbucks location is located inside the Memorial Union at ASU. This means a couple things: first, it is almost always extremely busy during weekday mornings, with lines of up to 30 people/students - Iām not kidding. Second, since it is not a ācorporateā location, you cannot redeem free drinks/food items from the Starbucks app here (or at any campus location for that matter). However, you can use the starbucks app to make purchases and earn stars.
As far as the customer service here goes, I would say this location is above average in that you are more likely to get a friendly barista here than at some other stores. Of course this is not always the case, but it is more common.
One thing I notice here pretty consistently is that oftentimes the amount of people waiting to get their drink/food is much more than the amount of people waiting to order. To me, this raises a question of efficiency in preparing the orders. Additionally, I would say the average time it takes for me to get my drink after ordering it is longer than average here. Sometimes it takes a while even when theyāre not busy, as if because there isnāt urgency, time doesnāt matter.
The store itself is kept nicely in order considering how incredibly busy it can be.
Overall, this location does a good job of handling the almost absurd amount of traffic it encounters during the week. There are a few things (like order preparation) that I think could use some working on, but all things considered, things run...

After waiting for 5 min for all 5 employees to giggle and talk about what teas they used to carry and what they can make for the 1 customer, while 8 other customers are waiting and waiting, I commented that I am ready now and that the rest of the customers are waiting for all 5 of them to help 1 guy. I got a rude comment from one of the girls, that "you do not know what you were talking about because you just walked up and saw all 5 of us there." I commented back that I have been here for 5 min. now and see 5 people helping 1 customer while 8 other customers are just waiting. She continued to comment back to me, (great customer service by the way, making sure the customer is wrong), then continued to comment under her breath to the others about how I did not know what was going on. I do, it's called poor service and attitude - I just called them out on it. Keep it up morons! Horrible waiting times, service that is never consistent (because of employees like that), overly priced (it is on campus...go figure), long lines with employees not interested. Ā The service was really nice, although I try my best to stay away from big coffee business and try to stay local this place is good for when you need something quick when you are in the area. I often crave different things served at starbucks so i end up there sometimes on days where I need a sweet little boost to my day. Also i like the attempts of trying to become more environmentally friendly, it is the small steps that big corporations make that will help save the world. I really like the reusable cups, the different lids to replace straws and other things they are doing. Now it is up to the consumer to help push the corporations to keep these types of changes up. I have also bought a bag of coffee from them before and use it nearly every morning to brew my coffee because I had a gift card.
