100% Perfect Generals chicken in a somewhat unique style. Chicken tastes so fresh. I’ve had it ~5x now and it’s so good, I don’t even want to try other entries. Extra large chunks of crispy chicken breast—100% white meat. (I like dark meat, but not in Generals chicken.) I would guess this is double fried. The sauce is the best I’ve ever had and they are not stingy. Classic crispy American egg roll (taste like they are from Minh). Wonton soup is merely above average, but they give a bowl of irresistible crispy fried noodles. Service is efficiently friendly and blazing fast. When they aren’t busy, Chicken arrives slightly before I’m finished with soup. Reasonable prices—especially for lunch. $2 to add mixed vegetables. Not a super fancy interior, but comfortable. Great location right off I10. If anyone in Houston can compete with this, I would like to know about them.
I think the current 4.0 star rating is far too low. Tips to avoid 1 star experiences:
First I called over the phone to place an order and I was put on hold for an excessive amount of time. When she finally came back to the phone, I asked a question about the menu, she continued to help another customer in the restaurant. When I finally had her FULL attention she was EXTREMELY RUDE. I decided to just drive 8 miles to the restaurant to place my order in person. BIG MISTAKE...I ordered the shrimp fried rice $9.69, it only took them 5 mins to make my order so I drive all the home to the most disgusting, dry, flavorless rice I've ever tasted. Seems like it was pre-made and old. I only had 8 mild sized shrimp in my order which is unacceptable for a $10 order. I spoke with the store manager Jerry and he gave me another order fresh but I still wasn't satisfied with the taste of the food.I appreciate his customer service but I will NEVER visit this place again simply because the food was not that great and the other staff members didn't provide any customer service AT ALL. I don't understand why greeting your customers and saying thank you is so hard for establishments like this. Customers make your business successful so giving them excellent customer service should be a priority. Once again I will NEVER spend my money with this establishment again and if you want to be treated like a valued customer I advise you not to visit this...
Read moreI would leave 10 stars based off of our first experience about 2 weeks ago. That was not the case for our second outing here. I should leave 2 stars based off of experience today. My wife ordered pick up and arrived quickly after placing order. She was told order wasn't ready and to wait in car and that they would call her when it's ready. That never happened. She went back in to find order on counter with ticket time of 10 minutes prior. He never called her. That not my issue. I don't like to see my wife inconvenienced but the issue comes when we start inspecting the food. I supplied pictures below. CHANGE YOUR OIL IN FRYERS! The fried items were overcooked and cooked in old grease. You could smell it. Saturated and nasty. I squeezed one of the fried items to have grease run down my hand. Absolutely disgusting! Any good cook would have not even served this. Any good manager would have them change grease. Clearly that wasn't the case today. Sweet and sour soup was old and smelled old. Like it was the bottom of the barrel on steam table. Entrees are good and as I remember from my first experience. We will give this place another shot just because of that first time. Quality consistency and pride were lacking in...
