Taco Cabana, has always been the place to go for good eating, customer service, and a clean atmosphere, that is until now. April 23,2016 at approximately 6:00 pm was my experience for a dining in. Upon entry of the store, several tables were dirty, with trays and did platters on them. The floor has several obvious pieces of trash on it invoicing food. The trash recepticles were over flowing, Condiment bar was filthy with sauces mixed. I counted one party of four young girls with a toddler, and a couple on another table. The drive thru did not appear busy, leaving the question as to why an employee was not delegated to clean the lobby. On Monday morning April 25,2016 at approximately 7:15am, I walked in giving the store and is employees the benefit of the doubt, and again tables had no been wiped down. I was approached by the young female cashier and asked for my order. I asked for the breakfast plate consisting of two eggs, fajitas and a side of beans garnished with cheese. I explained to her that i wanted to also order an extra egg and wanted them over easy. She gave me the price and i payed. I walked to go get my drink and came back to the counter. I reminded her that i was going to be eating in. She looked at me and said " I already put it in a to go tray" thinking it would be too much to transfer my meal onto a plate i said it was ok. She hands me the tray and i explained to her that i had requested over easy eggs. She said " where do you go eat because we don't have shelled eggs here". I explained to her that as a Professional trick driver, i have the opportunity of eating at several including Seguin Tx. San Antonio Tx. And several other spots, she smirked and said "well not here" I saw two awards on the counter above the beer representing recognition for excellence in service . I can only imagine that was under different management. THREE THUMBS DOWN!!!! Never to...
Read moreI LOVE, LOVE Taco Cabana. However at this particular location, the drive thru is horrible. I work nearby in the Greenspoint area and I go at this location at least twice a week. Everytime I go through the drive thru my order is ALWAYS muffed-up. Today I went through and checked my order as I was pulling out (I didn't want to eat a screwed up order today-no patience for it). So, my order was screwed up...yet again so I went inside and the girl that is working the drive-thru gave me a crappy look...they act like it was my fault..the woman started to speak in Spanish to all of the other workers in the kitchen and they all turned around and started staring at me and making remarks (gringo this-gringo that)....That REALLY makes me mad. The whole staff in the kitchen are Hispanic and all speak fluent Spanish...hardly any English...maybe that's why my order always gets jacked-up. They fixed my order...and that's cool. BUT- I will not go back to this location EVER again. GET SOME PEOPLE THAT SPEAK ENGLISH TO WORK THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! I hold the DM responsible for this because their GM should be responsible enough to care about what/how the customers are being treated, but then again the GM at this store is Hispanic so I expect nothing different. I'm not by ANY means racist, I just get so sick of being treated like an idiot because they cannot understand English. :) Hope this review helps...
Read moreReally had no issue with the food itself. Everything else however was questionable to downright disgusting. Based on the condition of the parking lot we almost kept driving but decided that, since it was windy, perhaps the parking area wasn't always full of debris. Although the inside was better, only just. The salsa bar was messy, the bathroom needed much attention, but it was the food handling that was the most disturbing. I went to ask for tortillas they missed including in our order and although the young man who prepared the tortillas in foil was properly gloved, he actually handed the foil wrapped tortillas to the cashier, who was not gloved/washed who then handed it to me. The PROBLEM was a portion of one tortilla was still exposed and the cashier's bare hand fully grasped the exposed tortilla as he handed it to me. Yuck! As we sat we watched as the cashier went outside to tackle the considerable amount of garbage in the parking area. No gloves. Just a dustpan, broom, and a rolling garbage pail. He worked painfully slow and by no means was thorough. It appears homelessness has touched this area of Houston. There were quite a few homeless people meandering about in the immediate area with suitcases, one with a shopping cart surrounded by more debris, and panhandlers on the corners. I used to live in Houston; I would never even consider...
