This place exceeded our expectations. The best thing about our trip there was our server Nathan. He made the whole dining experience. It was pretty full when we got there. It was Fourth of July weekend. We sat on the patio. The sun was setting over the water so the view was amazing. It was still pretty hot though. The menu looked delicious but it was my husband and mines first time there so we weren’t sure what to pick. Nathan our awesome waiter was a wealth of knowledge. He gave us good insight of the things that tasted really great. We went with his suggestions and we were glad that we did. We got the Guava Tandoori Chicken which he suggested and also had the empanadas. Both appetizers were a great pick. For dinner my husband had the ribeye with the potatoes and broccoli. It was cooked to perfection. The potatoes and broccoli soaked up all that delicious flavors from the garlic herb butter and from the juices of the steak and from the bacon underneath. Absolutely worth it if you can pack it down. Definitely not for smaller appetites. My husband and I also ordered drinks and did not like them. We gave Nathan an idea of the kind of flavors we like and he came back with drinks that were amazing to our particular tastes and weren’t on the menu. He was so pleasant to talk to and had great energy. The food was wonderful, but there’s a lot of places with really good food. When you have above board service, that really takes your dining experience to the next level. We will definitely be going back. Make sure to ask for Nathan and tip him well.

Weekday night experience. Food is just awfully bland. Tried the Fenugreek Paneer. For the price, the amount is enough for 1 person. I DO NOT recommend Fenugreek Paneer dish. It tastes like you're eating nothing. Zero flavor, can't taste a single Indian spice. Spice level is low. The rice is super oily/buttery. Same goes for the appetizer naans-they're drenched in oil. The white sauce for dipping is delicious though. The honey guava kebab is awful. Tastes bland just like the rest of the entrees. The onions that come on the side with the kebab has more seasoning to it than the entrees themselves. Thats just weird. The drinks are the best tasting item about this place. But they put sooo much ice in the small cup, you basically get a shot of a drink and they expect the ice to water it down so it looks like you got 1 full drink. For $16 drinks-this place is not worth it. They do have mocktails and that is the most basic mocktails that you could make it home and they cost around $12!!! The menu is on a tablet. You have to click to see each price. Menu changes per season because I didnt see certain dishes offered such as salad, queso etc. This place is just known for pretty looking dishes and drinks. But its not worth it when it tastes bland. Im sure that is not an Indian chef in the back. You can taste it. The ambiance is really nice though. Outdoor seating is nice, surrounded by water. The indoor has a homey vibe with books on the shelves, music is relaxing. Seating is comfy. Love the dividers around the room to give privacy to tables. They have live music days. Hostess didn't smile upon us entering the establishment, she seemed tired. Server was great. The staff did seem to hang around the area next to the bar / by the bathroom entrances. It blocked the way to the bathrooms. I highly suggest you eat at Curry Now right around the corner from this restaurant. Curry now has wayyy more tastier meals and literally more than half the cost of Windmills.

The place has an amazing ambience. Nice and polite hostess at the front. The experience went south with our waiter. He forgot to bring out one of us water, took a while to bring that out. Next, he doesn't even know how to pronounce the names for the items on the menu. We tried the beer sampler, not very impressed with the beer they brew. When 2 of us wanted to order the wagyu burger, he mentioned it comes medium rare and kind of bloody. We asked for it to be cooked medium, and his response was "no matter how you cook it, it will still be bloody". Really dude? Have you heard of a well done burger? Once the appetizers came out, he comes back within a few minutes asking if he can take the plates away, when the appetizers plates clearly had more than half food left on them. He kept passing by and looking so we pretty much rushed and ate the appetizers so he can take the plates. Twice they brought the wrong order to our table, before the main course came out. They just seemed lost, uncoordinated, and have zero knowledge on menu items. I asked the waiter for extra sauce that came with my salmon burger, and he has to confirm which burger the sauce came with, because he didn't have a clue which sauce I showed him. Now all the food items were excellent, except the dessert. We ordered coconut tres leches cake, it came with a side of milk that we had to pour over the cake ourselves. The cake tasted like it just came out of the fridge, dry, and frosting was too thick. To top it all off, for a party of 6 + toddler, they decided to add gratuity of 20%. The service provided did not deserve more than 10%! 3 stars only because of the ambience and food. Horrible service staff. I would do 2.5 if I could.

Food was good and the best part was the tandoori chicken platter! It has the best daal makhni and the green chutney ( I know the green dip any Indian household can make it but when u will have it here, you may want to take it home because it’s that fresh and tasty 😋) This platter has mouth watering tandoori chicken along with vinegar onions. Then I also tried wild mushroom naan which is good option for mushroom lovers ( only if you are a mushroom lover) and again, the dip that comes along is relishing. Seekh kabab platter is also very good. Peruvian salad is a good option to choose for salad lovers and the people who are on diet as the salad is great mix of all the vegetables and some quinoa! Kids meals are also very good as I enjoyed them More than my daughter 😊 fries and cheesy bread to be specific. This is indeed a beautiful place and what makes it more beautiful and enjoying is it’s service. Server Jared and Louis served us really well. They were really welcoming and made sure that we get the best of experience today. They made sure that we are satisfied with each dish we ordered. Last but not the least.. Kaylee is indeed doing a great job. She values each & every customer and makes sure they get best of their experience when it comes to food and hospitality! Thank you Kaylee for making our experience with The Windmill a memorable one 😊

This was my first visit and everything has so much flavor and spice. Now I've heard mixed reviews where some say the food is just okay, but I personally really enjoyed and will be back. I really would like to attend a music event or see the upstairs patio in the summer. Our bartender shared that the staff personally plant flowers outside that create a beautiful ambiance. I personally love sitting at the bar top. For me, it creates a more intimate experience being able to chat with the bartender if it's not too busy. I can't recall our bartender's name, but he was really cool and the staff we interacted with were great. The staff had great recommendations. As we enjoyed our food, we learned so much about the structure of the building, why there were bookcases everywhere, and theories on why the logo for the restaurant is a squirrel. What we ordered- • Hot 'N Sweet Guava Chicken I'm definitely getting this again! • Pistachio Mango Mousse Cake - this was so light and refreshing • Broccoli Tikki - 3 staff recommended. We were pleasantly surprised! If you like veggies, these were so good. • Cheese Curds - Pakora battered with a mint yogurt dipping sauce. • I cant recall the drinks. We were tempted to get a flight, but then the bartender mentioned their new stout. He gave great accolades to their head brewer in creating this, so we had to support!
