I came here last week on a weekend about 5-6pm. The food looks good some just cooked like the fried chicken. I ate the dressings (hummus traditional and spicy plus others), the vegetables I ate were fried cauliflower, potatoes and grilled tomatoes and eggplant. The meat I ate was fresh fried chicken that just came out of the kitchen and the rest were chicken curry, meatballs, and stewed fish. They all tasted good at first but somehow became salty to the tongue when it lingers in your mouth. We paid about $58. I noticed that no one seemed to be using the restroom like it used to be. We left after 1 hour and 30 mins. At home I started to have a headache and feet swelling and lower leg pain. My husband said he is running a low-grade fever. None of us had diarrhea but we just felt some malaise. I told my husband, my leg is painful please apply some liniment to help decrease the pain which helps a bit. I went straight to the bed and woke up at 3am. I tried to poop but I can only fart. I am constipated after eating all the veggies and salad? It cannot be. My husband had a low grade fever when I checked him and gave him Tylenol, he said he is having chills. In the morning at 10 am my husband said he cannot poop after that dinner last night and I said me too. The second day, constipation was still present. I took some Metamucil that did wonders and he took a stool softener. No diarrhea existed. I am suspicious that the food constipated us intentionally maybe. If these experiences will happen to you, please add a comment here. If these will continue to happen, we need to report the incident to the US Food and Drug Administration. I do not recommend eating here. I did...
Read moreA really enjoyable Mediterranean dinner buffet without the guilt of gluttony! Whether you're a vegetarian or an omnivore, this buffet will satisfy your needs. All of the selections are of a lighter fare, comprised of vegetables and meats that are not heavy, salty, fatty or greasy. The price is reasonable and the dining area is kept clean. This gem of a buffet is located in the heart of the Woodlands and serves a really tasty variety of what I believe is Greek style buffet foods, for about $18 per person. Starting on the end where the plates are, you can select from several varieties of hummus, multiple types of salads, different types of rice, and variable meats (beef, chicken and fish). There are also fresh pita breads at the end of the buffet line to dip into your hummus or make your own gyros. *But I believe that the best meat item is the lamb!! The secret to getting the lamb is that you ask the staff behind the buffet counter for the lamb and they will cook it and serve it on a plate with a fresh cucumber sauce when it's ready. The standard procedure is that once it is ready they will ring a bell and you come back to retrieve it. It's not out on the standard buffet line/you have to ask for it. I guarantee you this is the most delicious gyro style lamb that I have found so far in this area! The staff is very friendly and attentive. They make sure that fresh food is continually available and also make sure that the tables are cleaned quickly and efficiently. Overall, Dimassi's deserves two BIG thumbs up for providing a very satisfying and fresh buffet! As a bonus, since it is all fresh and the majority is vegetables, you'll leave full & satisfied,...
Read moreDimassi's is my favorite place to dine whenever I'm craving Mediterranean and visiting Houston. I LOVE the location near Reliant, they're so kind, friendly, and welcoming. This was the complete opposite when I visited their Woodlands location. Granted, the food was still marvelous and worth the journey. Upon entering, there was an older man seated near the front where the stairs descend into a dining area. He greeted the chap in front of me, but reserved a cold disposition towards me. I shrugged it off as nothing much, and proceeded to enjoy the buffet. Upon completing my meal, I headed to the front to pay my bill. This codger greeted a lady that was dining, and promptly returned to the chill when I approached to settle up. I extended a feeble hi, but he seemed perturbed and quite frankly annoyed that I was bothering him. I tipped 15%, and left the establishment. The price is reasonable, the food amazing, the gentleman that bussed my table was also nice and cordial, had I cash on me, I would've left him something extra, but alas. I don't know who the old man at the front was, but he certainly put me off from future excursions to this location, which is a shame, since I'm a resident of The Woodlands. I was the only Black man there, I really don't want to think that had anything to do with his surly behavior, but it's not the first time I've encountered a reaction like that in...
