To start, thank you Ryo and Chase for taking such good care of us! They do validate parking from the waterway garage and I would recommend making a reservation! The staff is so kind and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. We have a fabulous lunch on Saturday. We ordered the Sunomono and each a 3 Handroll Set. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I’m excited to come back for dinner to try everything else. The Sunomono had chunks of cucumber rather than the normal thin slices. I prefer this now! It’s not spicy and the flavors all meld together beautifully. The three Handroll set has a salmon, hamachi, and spicy tuna handroll. The BGB Salmon is flown in from New Zealand and having personally had the same salmon, in New Zealand, you lose none of the flavor! The hamachi handroll was so good and left you feeling refreshed. Most of their fish is flown in from Japan and the quality is there. The last roll, the spicy tuna, was our favorite and the perfect way to end our little lunch. Spicy tuna tends to be low grade tuna covered up with spices. This however was not. This is quality tuna that you taste on the front of the bite and then the heat from the habanero aioli shows up at the end. My husband and I both agreed it was the best spicy tuna we have EVER had!! I highly recommend you visiting Kokoro! We can’t wait to come back. P. s. Keep an eye out for all the fun ducks.

I love the original Kokoro (willing to drive 45 minutes) and hope to visit the Dubai location one day but I was bummed by our experience here. The gorgeous bar and kitchen are huge and it would make you think that the menu was pretty extensive or comparable, but that’s not the case. It’s not awful, just really odd. I did enjoy the hand rolls which were very fresh but overall it was pretty expensive. The timing of the hand-roll sets was also off so we ended up waiting a while. HOWEVER, The cardamom gin and tonic is probably the best drink I’ve ever had and the handroll with the cilantro inside was top tier. Would return for a pricey snack but hoping our experience was in anticipation for something even better!

I had a wonderful solo visit while in The Woodlands for business. Everything was delicious - no soy sauce necessary! I splurged, starting with the Sunomno, then the Kampachi Crudo - which was, I think, my favorite, though it's a difficult call. After that, I had the 4 handroll set, and added caviar to the negitoro. I ended with a few bites of sushi: bluefin chutoro, hamachi, hotate, and A5 wagyu with caviar. Each bite was so well crafted. My always helpful and friendly waiter closed my meal with his favorite - saketoro aburi. I would be hard- pressed to pick a favorite, each was a unique and delicious bite. Not an inexpensive evening, lol, but worth every penny! I will be back when in town again.

Hands down, one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to! The quality of the fish is incredible — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every roll was crafted with care, and the attention to detail really made the entire experience stand out.

But what truly made our visit exceptional was the customer service. Diana and Nick went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. From the moment we walked in, their energy was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask — and they made great recommendations that took our meal to the next level.

If you’re looking for not only top-tier sushi but also an experience where you feel like a VIP, this is the place. Huge shoutout to Diana and Nick — they’re the...

The food was amazing but the service not so much so. I ordered the plate of 4 rolls to share with my husband but they refused to cut it in 1/2 or give me a knife to do it myself. Reasons 1) they didn’t have knives in the entire place. When I pointed out the chef had a knife in his hand the said 2) they won’t cut it because they are keeping to a Japanese tradition. What a joke. Then as if that wasn’t enough the manager had to come over in repeat this absurd reasoning in a condescending way. I guess you cannot eat here if you are unable to use chopsticks and want to share a roll. Go to Bloofin if you want top quality sushi without the arrogant attitude. They have better selection of sushi and sake and better value for your dollar. Needless to say to say I don’t...
