11/18/2024 Update. I've fallen in love with Lazy Dog Restaurant and bar. Here is why. I'm not one to get all in my feels over any corporate restaurant. That said the Del Amo Lazy Dog has a different vibe. The team is like a family and I had an amazing experience there this last week. It started at the front of house Brianna and Christian were amazing. I asked for a booth even though it was just me and they said absolutely. Then a giant party wirh a bunch of kids sat down. I don't mind kids but I was desperate for a little escape and I asked the waiter if it was OK if I moved. He said no problem. Didn't get his name and eneded up not in his section. That was not ideal since he was charming and handsome. Don't judge I'm suffering from #singlegirlproblems. Lol My server was Breanna and wow was she good. Christian answered my questions about the food and was so sweet when I agve him my order and he said I will give it to your server no worries. I had had the worst couple days. What a wonderful young man. Anyway Breanna got me everything I needed and when I broke down because I got some very sad news the manager came and spoke to me. Samantha is so rela and we instantly clicked and she didn't need to but she took a moment to see of I was ok and when I couldn't finish my food she packed it up for me and got me fresh sauce and so on to go. Never have i been made to feel so cared about at ANY corporate chain restaurant. She recommended I come with my girls on Friday night to enjoy some drinks and apps at the bar. I asked around and people said it is a fun and safe environment and if you are single some real great people come and its a great time. I will keep you posted about that.
FOOD was so good. Better than I remember and my Google info reminded me I'd been 10 times. Fish and chips amazing I will add photos I also went for the Caesar salad. I got so much food. I had an amazing lunch again yesterday with what I couldn't finish. There is something for everyone and even a good kids menu. Cocktails that aren't boring too. Look times are a little tough now so we all want to get the best experience and meal for our money and wow Lazy Dog isn't Lazy at all they delivered so much. I can not wait to go back I have a few dishes I still want to try. Thank you to you all for being so kind to a crying girl and making me feel so special. There was plenty of seating and the bard section is on its own side So if you're not into a bar don't worry 8t is coupes and family friendly on the other side and they have a nice enclosed patio if you want to dine al fresco..
Ok!! Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar at Del Amo Fashion center has it together!! Clean and well spaced outdoor patio for dining. I watched the cleaning person go over every table he cleaned while I was there twice and yes chairs and all surfaces. Thoroughly! Masks, shields, and gloves. Full bar drinks available with food. I opted for water. I sat next to the fire pit and it was obviously off. It's already hot and muggy enough but I loved the spot. I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps. Ny friend ordered fish tacos and we shared a Buffalo cauliflower app. Our waiter Joseph "Joe L." was absolutely 💯 and charming. Ask for him!! My friend was being a but bi*chy at first. Major hunger pains. #hangry. Anyway he was just sweet and knowledgeable. Then she noticed his eyes and well.. yeah anyway. He was easy on the eyes. Imaging a hot spaceman. Well food was served hit and quickly. They do have a 1 and a 1/2 hour time limit. They need to turn tables to survive so please no long brunch like meals people! The hostess was cheerful and even thanked us and was genuinely friendly not PHONY. what a fabulous experience. I highly recommend you go. Masks unless you are eating. And relax enjoy good food and libations. Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect and I will be returning. By the way the mall is closed except for Macy's, Nordstrom, and the outdoor shops. Shops with their own entry from outside I was told by mall security. Thank you Lazy Dog 🐕 I'm going to be...
Read more2 of our party of 9 ordered shrimp. Both were immediately sick, 1 adult and 1 child. The adult was throwing up non stop in the restroom and the child was extremely nauseous. What's really problematic is the way in which the situation was handled by management. They were more concerned with covering their own you-know-what than with the sick, paying customers.
Anyway, the manager couldn't even pretend that she cared one bit about the food poisoning. By her demeanor, it was apparent that it was all an inconvenience for her. But did she not realize how grand of a concern this is for us? Now we have to worry about the health of TWO of our family members, an adult and a child! Food poisoning is no joke and can lead to hospitalization. Per the CDC, though rare, food poisoning can actually be fatal.
So while we understand that it may be "inconvenient" for any restaurant to have one of its patrons get food poisoning, it's even more worrisome for the sick customer (and in this case there were two customers that got sick). Must I mention again that it was an adult and a child?! And yet, somehow the manager was upset as if we were at fault for the food poisoning that her kitchen staff was responsible for. Go figure!
The even crazier part is that we had to ask for the manager when that should've been the first thing offered by staff once we notified them of the situation. Just how she went and checked the restroom, as manager, she should've come directly to our table to check on us. But she didn't. And when we asked for her, she finally came and was completely unapologetic about everything. Again, she was more concerned with covering her own you-know-what, so she asked for our information to pass on to risk management. She said they'd reach out to us about the situation. I get it, she's just following standard procedures. Now I completely understand she's limited in what she can do, as food poisoning is a serious matter which involves liability. So it was in her best interest to not say much on said matter. However, she offered no solution at all. It was more of a "Whoops, well let's get your information and someone will call ya'. Have a great night! Bye!" type of interaction than anything else. Her response as the manager of the stablishment was lackluster to say the least.
Another family member had to speak up and mention how we shouldn't be charged for the 2 shrimp plates nor the drink that my sister in law wasn't able to drink due to getting sick. It was the least they could do for such a delicate situation. The manager halfheartedly agreed, and then tried to refund us less than what was owed back to us until I reminded her I know how basic math works. She then refunded the (somewhat) correct amount. "Somewhat" because she still charged us taxes on what we supposedly were getting refunded. Again, go figure.
I get that this is Lazy Dog and not a 3 Star Michelin restaurant, but we weren't asking for much. This manager needs to learn that a bit of kindness goes a long way. Including the 20% tip we gave, we paid over $400 for our party of nine. Again, I know Lazy Dog isn't remotely close to fine dining, but it isn't a cheap fast food drive thru either. But after this, I think I'd be better off with the customer service at a food truck...
Read moreThe menu is eclectic and I've never had anything that I didn't like from this place.
Located in back of Del Amo mall, plenty of free parking. Free Street side parking for pickup. Safe location. Dog friendly on patio. They have a dog menu, chicken or plain beef patty with rice and veggies. It can feed a big dog. I've tried the chicken if try the beef patty because they're not seasoned I was curious. The chicken is perfectly cooked, the burger is better than most places burgers even without seasoning. As of today it's $5 for a doggie meal. My 15lb dog can eat it in 2 meals.
I myself have had burgers, dessert, the crunchy brussel sprouts, the French dip type sandwich. That sandwich is freaking amazing.
The customer service is really really friendly. I got a dog bowl for my dog and we forgot to confirm the names when I picked it up at I was waiting there at the restaurant for a while and it was ready at the time it said it should be. I got a chicken bowl. By time I got back and I went to go put it on the bag I realized it was chicken. At that exact time I get a call on my phone and it's the restaurant. They realized the mix up. I was only a couple minutes away from the restaurant so I went back and exchange my chicken dish for the beef dish.
Then I get another call about 20 minutes later and it was the manager stating that he was going to take that bill and return the money. I wasn't upset with the service, I didn't mind going back to return the food and I was not expecting that. That was really kind of them. They said I could keep the chicken dish but I said go ahead and give it to somebody was a dog here as I was thinking to be able to keep it cold overnight because of traveling.
They have a membership app where you can get a free dessert if you sign up for it .
And I often get to go but I have eaten there with my dog and it's lovely. I must tell you about the one time I got to go as this just is another point of customer service at they are amazing at. I got the French dip sandwich. I'm sorry that may not be the correct name for it. But I was going to walk back to the hotel I was staying at. So I asked him to deconstruct it for me so that the bread wouldn't get soggy. And I was expecting leftovers as these portions are huge.
They separated into different containers every part of that meal. I mean just above and beyond. It made it so I could eat my sandwich. Next day pull the meat out, reheat it. Reheat the au jus. Melt the cheese into the meat. Use still fresh bread. Basically reconstruct a brand-new fresh sandwich. That meant a lot to me.
They know how to cook every meat perfect to your liking. If you get well done, it takes time, but it is still full of flavor and not burnt.
The apple pie dessert is huge, Delicious.
But going out with my dog to have a meal together is the best. The dogs that go there know they have to behave, so the patio is a fun...
