This is the most disgusted I have ever been with a customer service experience. Placed a mobile order for pickup. Walked into the restaurant to wait for my order to complete. There was a big party of around 20 or so waiting to order, so I was glad I placed my order ahead of time. As 20 minutes went by and no signs of my order being made, I decided to walk up and politely ask the worker if she could check on my order. I just wanted to make sure it did not get lost in the system, and wanted reassurance that it was being made. Well, buckle your seatbelt because this is where everything hit the fan.
I told the woman at the counter, Lopa was her name (sp?), that I placed a mobile order and had been waiting awhile. I asked if she could please check on it to make sure it was being made. She walked over to the computer to check and asked my name. I gave her my name and she walks back over to me and says my order had been picked up already. Mind you, I had been waiting in front of the pickup counter for 20-25 mins at this point, and no one ever called my name or anything close to it for that matter. When I told her this, she rudely replied with, the mobile order was picked up already, you can go. Stunned, I pulled my phone out and pulled up the mobile order receipt. This receipt contained my name, the address of this Wendy's, my order number, the time I placed the order, and the items I ordered. Proof of purchase does not get any clearer than that. She did not care. Just kept repeating that the order was picked up already and that I would have to contact the customer service through the app. Provided absolutely zero resolution. Starting to get frustrated, I replied back "If you gave my order to someone else without calling a name, how is that my fault?". She ignored me and walked away. When she returned, I said can you please remake my order then because I paid for my food and did not receive it. She refused. Proceed to call me a liar in front of the entire restaurant even though I had been waiting there for so long with my proof of purchase in my hand, I've never felt more embarrassed in my life.
Time goes on and she is tending to other customers and still ignoring me. Another pass by and I stop her and ask to speak to a manager. She replies with "I am a manager myself". At this point in time, another 10-12 mins has gone by of her just arguing with me and refusing to get a solution. You know, the exact opposite of what a manger should be doing - de-escalating a situation. She finally caves and throws a medium cup across the counter saying "The drink fountains over there, go get what you ordered". I refuse to ignite the situation further, so I go and get my drink from the fountain. I walk back and she says extremely sarcastic "Here is your order, that I've had to make twice now". I was absolutely baffled by this comment. First you escalate the issue as a "manager" by calling me a liar publicly, and now you are mocking me for it? I responded and asked for her name. She refused and said "you have your food now, just go". I asked again and she finally told me.
Never in my entire life have I felt so disrespected, especially as a paying customer. Even the other customers around me waiting couldn't believe her behavior. One lady looked at me and said "I guess this is customer service nowadays." I will NEVER and I mean NEVER buy anything from this Wendy's again. Lopa clearly gave my order to another person without calling a name or checking receipts. This means not only did I not get my order, but the other person who got my food received the completely wrong order. Something so easily avoidable. They also have a mobile order pickup station, which is NOT utilized. They just lazily place the food on the counter, don't call a name, anyone can just walk up and take it. Whoever reads this, please remove Lopa from the management role. She clearly cannot handle taking responsibility for messing up, and does not know how to de-escalate issues. I would like a follow-up on...
Read moreLast Update (1Year): To give them the benefit of the doubt, I waited this out. Wendy's Corporate quickly points out that this particular location is a locally owned franchise, and they handle their own complaints; just not well, or at all. Don't get me wrong - I like(d) Wendy's. I chose to go there... it's just disappointing they chose not to rectify a bad experience, and that is why they received this just, fair review. Update 7/14/2022: I contacted Wendy's via their "Wendy's wants to know" survey / comments on 7/5/2022. I asked to be contacted, and received a call within a few hours (Don't call; evidently they are swamped with the public's unhappiness). I was pacified with mediocre concern, and the phone was soon handed to a "GM" or so I was told. I requested a refund of at least half of my meal (see below, I spent $87.50 on my visit). He asked for my contact information, and indicated he needed to seek approval, and would call me back. Fast forward to Tuesday 7/12/2022, when I (again) entered my contact information asking to be contacted, because I had not yet been called back about my refund. It appears it was just their feeble attempt to ignore (another) customers request to be compensated for (another I am sure) HORRIBLE experience. As the only recourse for discontent, management obviously has no respect for Wendy's as a company; representing them with a genuine lack of respect, thinking that ignoring their shortcomings is valuing their customer base. The representation that they have so boldly shown certainly explains the poor quality of service at the Clifton Park location, and in turn tarnishes Wendy's reputation as a quality fast food chain restaurant. In short I recommend anyone who values their time, money, and self-worth should strongly consider ANY alternative to Wendy's unless you like the feeling of not being valued as a customer. If this review finally prompts someone to finally call me back about my refund I would be shocked given the lack of concern up until now.

Nicholas took our order; was very polite, and ensured our order (10 of us, with 4 small children!) was fulfilled correctly, and offered us to see him if anything was not correct No one had nametags, including the Mgr / Asst Manager Mgr / Asst Manager was outside eating when we arrived (W/F with bleached blonde hair, approx. 5'6") at an outdoor picnic table Some employees were standing around with no direction behind the counter I had to clean 2 tables for our family, as the dining room tables were all dirty, and full trash containers (indoors). drink machine was filthy, with dried soda on it
I actually used to be an employee at this Wendy's and I honestly hope it gets shut down. (If you live in Clifton Park, go to the Wendy's that's near Walmart. Don't bother with this one cause they're awful). First off, the kitchen there is way too small. The employees were always struggling to just squeeze by eachother. It's so small that I don't even understand how it passes health code or labor laws. And speaking of labor laws, the managers are in huge violation of them with how they treat their employees. I worked the late night shift when I was there and I remember one of the other employees had dropped a couple of dishes (which is no big deal cause they're not glass. They're just plastic containers) and as she was picking them up to put in the sink, the female manager (I think her name was Kim) started yelling at her "DID YOU SMOKE CRACK BEFORE YOU CAME TO WORK?!" I was shocked at this outburst. I wish I had told that employee to contact HR about it cause that was really over the line. I told them in my interview that I only had register and drive thru experience (from working at Burger King, which btw is actually a great place to work if you don't mind being in fast food), but they had put me on the fryer. I've only worked the fryer a few times at BK and it was only to help get them out faster during busy hours. I got absolutely no hands on training. They just had me watch the videos and then sent me out on my own. I put up with this bullcrap for about a month and then I was fired for, and I'm not even kidding here, "not making fries fast enough." That is LITERALLY what they fired me for. So I haven't eaten here since then. I just go to the one near Walmart. Their staff is...
