M&R Deli is a true Montauk gem, recommended by a coworker when I was craving a cold cut fix, and it certainly didn't disappoint. This spot is a haven for anyone seeking top-notch cuts with fresh, premium ingredients. As a longtime visitor to Montauk, stumbling upon this place feels like discovering a hidden treasure. After trying their ham and Swiss sandwich loaded with a myriad of fresh veggies, I was blown away by the quality and freshness of every ingredient. Incorrect order. Owner was rude and unwilling to correct it, called me unreasonable, difficult and other unsavory things all because I called to complain about the order. He slammed the phone down on me and cursed at me. Ordered a gluten free wrap, which they do not have. Ordered ketchup on the side instead received a soggy sandwich. All of this could have been settled with a simple acknowledgement and offer to amend, instead of all of this hostility. Terrible restaurant with terrible food and even worse customer service.

The employees at this establishment are very rude. Seems like they don’t want to be working there. The food is good, but to have someone representing your business so poorly. We will not patron this place again. Find staff that will actually smile and not treat your customers as a bother! One bad employee, can cost you a loyal customer furthermore when a group of your locals come in, when I say a group I mean more than four- order gets served and on their way, fifteen minutes after we made our order.
