This is a 2-in-1 kind of place... You have a traditional/old school barber shop in front with vintage barber chairs and a cozy craft beer bar in the back.
The entire place is clean and has friendly staff in the front and back.
The bar area is well done with a vintage vibe. The bar stools are comfortable and the other seating is also comfortable. Even when this place is full, it does not feel crowded because of the well-designed layout. You can get Crowlers to go of whatever they have on tap. Their tap selection is excellent with many beers rotated through that cover a wide range of palettes. They also serve prosecco.
There is some snack food, but no kitchen food.
The barber shop is excellent with barbers skilled in many styles. You can also get a traditional hot shave here!
Another note on the cleanliness of this place - their bathrooms are the cleanest and have very nice high-end fixtures in them.
Barber and Brew has an outdoor porch area with seating allowing you to enjoy a beer and take in the sights and sounds of Main Street in Cold Spring. We even bring our kids when we sit on the porch so we can enjoy a beer and watch them as they play on the sidewalk just like I did as a kid growing up in Cold Spring.
This destination is worth taking a drive...
Read moreI hate writing negative reviews but unfortunately my most recent experience here calls for one. I’ve gone to Barber and Brew a few times now—I make a trip up from the city every couple months to get a haircut and it’s been great until the one I just received. I asked for my usual, a blunt, unlayered bob that’s longer in the front and shorter in the back. What I got was a bob that was longer in the back, layered, and shorter on the left side of my head. I would’ve asked for it to be fixed had I noticed right away, but I only saw these issues once I got home to Brooklyn and got a closer look. Most salons have a one week period where you can return for a touch-up so I decided to try to get in contact with B&B, except they had no phone number to be found anywhere. I attempted to reach them on the platforms they DO have, Instagram and email, but did not receive any response. Poor customer service and communication, and a shame for the hairdresser who can’t be reached by their client. Now I have to spend more money to get my hair...
Read moreMy friend and I had so much fun visiting this bar. Yes, it’s a barber shop with a bar in the back, which is such a fun idea! The vibe was really chill on the Saturday we visited, and there is a nice selection of wines, beers and cocktails. They also have cheese boards to snack on.
The bartenders are friendly and so are the locals! They will often strike up a conversation while you’re sitting there. The bathrooms are also very clean and modern, and you can tell this place would be incredibly popular in NYC. You must stop by and visit the next time you are in...
