Pane Vino on the Avenue — Restaurant in Town of Pittsford

Pane Vino on the avenue had so much potential to be a great date night for me and my wife. However the entire time our service was awful and completely rushed to where our experience became completely unenjoyable. Between our server Niko who rushed us into picking our drinks and food to then the about 4 bus boys who came to our table about 10 times not even 20 minutes after getting our appetizer asking us each time “would you like this boxed up” all before our entrees were served to us. And even after they were, the entire service team seemed to be in full swing trying to rush us out the door, at one point when I was in the restroom, they had even hounded my wife about 4 times asking if she would like everything boxed up.

Now I know it wasn’t because we were taking long because they began asking us before our entrees arrived, and we timed it too, we had not even been there for an hour yet when they started asking. I do not know if this was because my wife and I were the only visibly queer women in the restaurant, or if it was even due to the fact my wife is a woman of color however, we were so rushed and felt so unhappy with our service we felt so overwhelmed we couldn’t bring our concerns to management. And especially the situation being as it was with no one else seemingly having it happen to them, I can only assume Pane Vino on the Avenue is not friendly to queer people and people of color. And it makes me even more upset that all of that had to come at a cost of $140. There are so many more issues I could mention however this was the main one which needed to be addressed. A wonderful way to celebrate Easter with the family after mass! Husband, daughter and her 10 month old and I made a reservation for brunch. As we entered we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and live music and singer. Very busy for 11:30 am. Lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed the unique menu and delicious appetizer bar! Yogurt and berries, arancini, salmon crostini’s, fruit, meatballs, salad, Pastries, quinoas and more. Really quite filling! Endless mimosas and coffee were appreciated as well! Took us a while to narrow down our decision on the main course! I switched mine a few times! Our gracious servicer Nicole checked in on us often and answered our many questions, refilling our beverages! Always a “no rush”. We were relaxed and just enjoyed visiting! We finally settled on Manicotti, very tender crepes and authentic homemade sauce (yes, gravy!). My husband ordered leg of lamb with interesting sauce. I ordered the pork cutlet. It had a cute name but I forgot that! It was tender and juicy and honestly delicious! I was stuffed before our actual meal arrived! Dessert was delicious! The usual were on display but hey those cream puffs and cannoli-OMG fantastic. So I give our visit a 10 or in this case, 5 stars! Went there for a corporate training event where we were supposed to have a private room reserved for a presentation. Right as the presentation started, the hostess seated a very LOUD group of 8-10 people directly behind our table in the private dining area. When we informed the hostess that we were supposed to have a private space for the presentation, she said that we were not in a private area and would not seat the other group elsewhere, despite the rest of the restaurant being mostly empty. The group of people were extremely loud and disrespectful during what was clearly a formal presentation (with Power Point slides and everything), so we were hardly able to hear the speaker despite her standing just a few feet away. At the end of the presentation, the presenter spoke to the manager and expressed that we were supposed to be in a private room and that the hostess was not very friendly when we brought up our concerns, and the manager was not any help either. Our group has done many of these trainings at local restaurants and have never had an issue like this before. Very disappointing service, especially since we spent quite a bit of money there.
