Waffle House — Restaurant in Travelers Rest

Since my last post, we have been back a few times. The past two, the cooks and wait staff were on their "A" game. Update: 01/26/25 (12:00 noon).Don't order your eggs over medium- this was the third visit that they came out "over well". We let it go the last two times, but more training is needed for the cooks. Asked to speak to the manager but apparently he was too busy. He never came over. Waitress,Gina was great, as is Lisa and Chantelle, but we need better cooks and mngt. here. Update: 11/30/24 : Appears to be new cook, you may want to wait and let him get in his groove. We ordered breakfast, everything came out fine except the bacon. He put our (well-done) bacon on AFTER we got everything else. We didn't feel like waiting on the bacon to come after we finished everything else. Seems like since Eric (former manager) left this place is constantly going downhill. Update: 11-14-23. 6:40pm Stopped in to eat. Found one young girl doing her best to take orders, cook, and clean-all by herself. No other employees. Where is the manager? Where is the D.M.? Isn't that why they make the big bucks- to show up when no one else does? This is pathetic. I hope the owner gives this girl a bonus! Update 09-05-22 It's been a while since I ate here. Apparently new mngt. And new staff. The food was good, and waiter (Jeff) was great. Food was fine, waitress was good,however , there were two of us and my food came out minutes before hers did. I ordered cheese omelet plate with well done bacon sounds easy but the cook wasn't learning to my order. He stated cooking hash browns and omelet before starting the bacon. I worked at a waffles house long time ago the meat is the first thing on the grill then hash browns then egg and toast well the cook tried to give me but cheese omelet. I stated I hope you are not serving that to me he gave me a look then madly though the omelet away made me a new one still over cooked for my taste but I was tired once he was folding the omelet he put the extra cheese on top the bowls he just used to make eggs. I lost it and said I know you just didn't put the cheese on my omelet you just laied on top the bowls with raw eggs again he gave me the look to kill. He pulled the cheese off trashed them and put new cheese on it I was tired from work 12 hours and I drive an hour each way to work 6 days a week took the food and paid left got home my omelet had egg shells in and under the cheese. Tried to call the the next day during a non buzy time went to a recording so I went to the main waffle house corp website this was 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for a call or email about what happen .. So this tells me they don't care about food safety or the customers eating food that was made with very bad food handling. I KEEP THE FOOD PUT ON FREZZER SO MY NEXT CALL IS TO HEALTH...

The place was absolutely disgusting inside and out!! I go to waffle houses all over and I love waffle house but this one was horrible. They had about 5 tables empty but that were still dirty. When the waitress came to our table she done what I guess she thought was cleaning the table we was at. But she only wiped about half of it off. Then my husband gets his sweet tea and there was something floating in it. The waitress was like well it may be grits and said she was blind as a bat. Apparently it's normal to have grits in your sweet tea!!! Then I ordered my steak medium and was completely well done!!! Which I didn't say anything I just ate what I could of it. Even the blinds looked like someone puked or took a dump on them there was trash like straw wrappers and napkins all on the floors along with food. It was just disgusting. The food didn't taste good either. Not to mention they were standing back there saying They didn't have any silverware instead of just washing some. I dont usually post reviews but this was horrible. I mean there was like 3 bags of trash at the back of the restaurant where they were too lazy to take it to the dumpster not to mention all the trash they spilled in the parking lot. I was super disappointed and will not dare go back to that...
