I worked in customer service for 4+ years at a young age. It left me with a permanent "Customer Service" voice when interacting with people. So I'll be honest, I'm very nice to workers. It was a very confusing moment for me when I was "out-niced" by the women at Cousin Jenny's.

They were SO nice.

My boyfriend and I wandered in here on a whim, looking for pasties. The women took no hesitation in explaining the menu to us, the pasties they have, and what would we like? Within seconds with had made our choices and they were off setting us up a cute little table for two near the window with all the condiments you could even need. I didn't expect any of that, because it's more of a counter deli. I didn't even know we'd be eating there, I thought it was more of a "grab and go" kind of place. They had set the table for us, pulled out our chairs, and plated our pasties for us. They'd even garnished my iced tea with a mint leaf. It's the small things. They serve the pasties with warm gravy and cold sour cream bottles, their house hot sauce, or mustard. Both of our pasties were delicious, warm, and flaky.

I don't think my drink was ever less than half full, they were so quick in their service. Even before I left, they asked if I would like my tea to go, and I agreed, and they brought it back to me completely refilled (again). Honestly, it's the little things you notice in service that really make an impact.

I will...

This is my absolute favorite place to eat in Traverse City. I’ve been eating here all the time this summer since I’m working downtown for a few months. You can get a pastie and a drink for $10. No matter what kind you get, they’ll always be warm and tasty, and they’ll fill you right up. I’m never left hungry here, but I always wish for more food anyway because it’s so good. They bring your food out to you with all the condiments you might need with your meal and they bring it to you almost as soon as you sit down. They also have salads and pasta salads along with a variety of drinks (fountain soda, tea, lemonade, bottled drinks). The ladies that take the orders are always so kind and accommodating and they’re fast and efficient. The owner is the nicest person you’ll ever meet and will make sure you have a drink refill if you want one. This place has a great theme and is a great place to people watch. Cousin Jenny’s also ships pasties nationally so even if you’re only in town on vacation, you can still have these great pasties when you go home. You can eat in the restaurant or...

First, I will highly recommend the steak Pasty. It will rock your world in ways you did not expect! Do not be fooled by the humble appearance of this incredible delicacy. I think that Jerilyn somehow bakes her amazing heart and incredible effort into these. She has the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen in my entire life. She just got a 100% score from the health department. She encouraged us to take pictures behind the counter! You can only imagine how clean it really is. The environment is very welcoming. She has a lot of very cool British decoration. She will take the time to tell you the history of the food and of this restaurant. She's been in business over 39 years! This is truly a place that you will not want to miss. If you come to this region you will definitely need to try a pasty. If you try a pasty, you should really try one of these pasties. They are incredible! You will be glad that you tried them! Also, she will ship these pasties to your front door October through May. Outstanding presents!...

First off, Google is showing this place in the wrong location on their map; it’s right next to Playa Bowls. The service was friendly and the store seemed like a nice place. The chili supreme was very nice and had a lot of toppings for added taste, and the steak pastie was delicious. The crust was a bit more pliable than I typically expect in a pastie, but it was still very good. The fillings were rich and meaty with plenty of meat and vegetables. The gravy and dynamite sauce complemented the pastie quite well. This made for an excellent lunch.

This joint used to be amazing. About 2 years ago or so they DRASTICALLY reduced the amount of meat in the pasties, and my wife and I stopped coming. Today we decided to see if they were still like that. They are... $12 for essentially a plate of sour kraut is a bad deal no matter how much thousand island you put on it. I would rather pay $14 and have meat in the pastie than get this garbage. Old review: Amazing pasties! Great taste and good size. Super friendly service too.

OMG!!! You have to visit this place!!! It’s like a heaven- these pasties - pies- are so good! They taste like my mom’s pies. Very authentic!!!There are many selections: with chicken, vegetables, ham etc. Great salads too! The whole atmosphere is just like home! They have pies to go and you can take a raw one and bake it yourself. We will be back to enjoy it once again!
