It is fantastic to have the option for this type of food in a very burger-oriented area.
I actually would have rated the service 5 stars. I've never had an order late, and the orders have always been accurate. Everyone in the restaurant is hard working.
I would rate the portion size 5+ stars. I would rate the pita 5 stars. The chicken shawarma and hummus I would give 4 stars. 5 stars for including the salad with the platters. I wish there were more options for adding stuff to the plates. Some things can be ordered as 'sides', but that would add up pretty quickly, and would leave me with a ton of pita bread. It would be nice to be able to add some tzatzaki, kalamata olives, feta, onions, tomatoes to a platter, without having to order sides of it all. Wish turkish salad was an option, and pickled onions, and red pepper hummus, and pita chips... For me, 0 stars for the Mediterranean fries. Some things just shouldn't be put together. The daughter likes the dolmades and falafel. Haven't tried the sandwiches or salads, but probably will in the future.
Original review:
I've gotten food from here several times. Always enjoyed it. The response to iKhalifaPro review by the business was unprofessional and uncalled for. Admit things didn't go quite right, apologize, and move on. Don't ridicule the customer.' And yeah, if you comment that I didn't leave an earlier positive review (as you did to another negative review), it's because you really need to be special to spark a five star review from me. I would have given you four stars, but for the rude, unprofessional responses to other negative reviews. Sometimes things don't go right - admit it, be professional,...
Read moreI ate from there while I was on layover with Amtrak. It is about 2-3 minutes walking distance from the station. The Meat Combo was Awesome! I have Crohn's Disease and finding good food that won't make me hurt or cry is Absolutely The Best. Mediterranean food has proven to be an ally of my condition and keeps me coming back. I am from The Bury in NC and I get Excited when I have to travel west because I know I can get a GR8 plate of Shawarma and feel good after eating. The Gentlemen that work there are very nice and inviting. This may be a small business, but the food they take the time to cook and serve is Big on taste and Full of my personal Appreciation. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, the gyro meat was especially good and didn't look like the fake gyro meat that I have seen at some places which is a deal breaker. I had never had Basmati rice before Urban Pita and now I buy it to cook and eat regularly. I Sincerely Appreciate the food and service. I will Definitely be coming back to eat here again. Thank you so much and GOD...
Read moreThe restaurant had great decor and feels really clean. I paid $51 that came with a jumbo gyro sandwich, 4 dolomades, 4 meat pockets, an order of falafels the size of eyeballs, and 2 pieces of baklava.
I was disappointed in the gyro sandwich bc it had way too much sauce on it to compensate for the dry lamb. Next, the minced meat pockets were not good at all. $13 for 4 meat pockets that looked like 2 tablespoons were divided between the 4 pockets. The meat was also dry, as well as the pocket it came in. The baklava was delicious, the dolomades were served cold, which wasn't my personal preference, and the falafels were good but very small.
Overall, I would give this place another try, and try something different. I hope they learn from these critiques and...
