They are doing a good job of sanitation against Covid 19. The staff is friendly. There is plenty of free parking. Next door is a grill for Filipino food ready to eat.. they have a lot of tables. Also next door is a small Filipino drugstore for cosmetics. Also next door is a wonderful Filipino bakery, Valerio's. Also next door is the famous Red Ribbon Bakery. So Seafood City is really much more than a great Filipino food store. It's a cultural mercantile center. UPDATE Still going strong in April 2023. We bought beautiful pompano, veggies peeled and chopped for sinegang, a canned tuna mix that she likes to take for lunch. Quick check out, friendly clerks, free parking.

We went for bitter melon and it seems to be fine. This time they also had patola AKA loufa. They have some vegetables that you are not going to find at Safeway. They also had the hami melon which we love.
Nothing really has changed in that store.
We also bought some chunks of pork meat to cook with mixed vegetables.
We wanted the broiled pompano but they were sold out.
My wife went across the aisle to The Grill, a kind of cafeteria where you go through the line and say what you want. She got some fried or grilled pompano there. She also got some pork skewers with a sweet and sour sauce that are just wonderful. I showed her the ballut, but having tried it she was not interested.

Read moreSo It is covid time so the server and cashier was in her gloves. she was using gloves to protect herself and not the food that she sold to me. I bought the big bibinka and she was trying to put in a paperbag that is too small, i told her it wont fit but she said it will fit, she kept on inserting it until the bibinka was 1/4 inserted, she was already holding the bibinka with her gloves.. (I doubt she never changes gloves before and after costumers) So with the bibinka slightly inserted, the paperbag was ripped. What she did was she took another wrapper to wrap it. Instead of removing the bibinka from the ripped paper bag, she wrapped the bibinka with the ripped paper bag which was disgusting!!!! . I just paid it and when she was infront at the cash register, she did not even change her gloves after i paid and she moved to the next costumer using the same gloves. I did not eat the bibinka I throw straight to the garbage! I moved to the next counter where foods were served. Here, servers only serve food and the cashier only works with the paying costumers. Well, she wears gloves and holding money but when she put the food in the plastic bag, she never change her gloves! Read moreI placed an online order for curbside pick up on grocery items. i received a notification saying my order was ready for pick up. However, my pick up situation changed and I tried to call the store multiple times to request a different arrangement. Nobody answered the phone. I sent my son to the store to see if he can still pick up my order despite being late. He said that there wasn't anybody at the customer service desk. The cashier he asked said they couldn't find my order online even if i received notifications that my order is ready for pick up. My son couldn't also find a manager that can help him. This is not the first time they botched my online order. you have to babysit this company with your online order. When I ordered online for delivery in the past, they did not confirm my order until i called their store by the time my order was supposed to be delivered. There has been no changes since then. Mahirap tangkilikin ang sariling atin, esp if their system is very frustrating, customer service is terrible and no changes have been made.
