I really dont like acting like a Karen. Or even writing bad reviews but hopeful this with save someone the bad service and food we got but please stop by and support the jazz music they was the only amazing thing there.
We were there with a large group but made reservations a week before so they knew we were coming but guess that didnt matter. The fact they had us at 3 different tables wasn't a big deal, the fact we had 3 diffent waitresses not a big deal. However the fact Our tables waitress stood 3 feet from us and talked to another table not with us and waited 20 mins to take our drink order, that was the start of the big deals But seeing she all ready knew she was getting a mandatory 20% tio from every one of us I gueas that gave her the right to just not bother with us. So the fact we had to wait for her to even take our drink order (which was only 1 bar drink and water since they dont offer soda, or sweet tea) we figured we better order our appetizers now before she goes back to not helping us. The fact there was only like 4 other table not counting our large group it still took another 30 mins to get those and longer for her to take our main dish order. Which came out cold. However our table was the best of the 3 of our group on getting their food since the other tables didnt even get to order until we was all ready recieving our from the kitchen. Guess this might of been due to one of the waitressing leaving after taking one of the tables drink orders, but can honestly say there was only 1 waitress worth anything and they looked like they might of been the manager not actually a waitress. We went here for a birthday they took our cake and Cupcakes (which we got approved to bring) and when it was time they brought the cake but finally after another 20 minutes had to ask if they was ever going to bring our Cupcakes which they acted upset that we asked for them. We picked this restaurant because of the good reviews but this was NOT the experience we got and I will not recommend this place to anyone and will never go back. Our group was looking forward to this event but the servers here was very disappointing. Oh and their prices are higher than online menu which wouldn't of been a big deal if it was good With all that being said the Jazz band was amazing which was the only good part about our visit.
Added a photo of my $30 steak which was dry and not very, the fish my partner had was better but not worth...
Read moreI want to warn anyone with gluten intolerance or sensitivities. Duets is a lovely restaurant and if you don't have a problem with gluten, it is a nice place. They do have a jazz club below for your listening entertainment, in the evenings. Yesterday, at lunch, something happened to me that was embarrassing and I don't want it to happen to anyone else. Duets advertises that they have gluten-free items on their menu, marked GF. Actually they have quite a few that looked delicious. I placed my order for the pork medallion tamales. (I was there with a friend during a business lunch.) When our server took my order, I explained to her that I have a severe gluten allergy and asked if she could she please relay that to the kitchen. After a few minutes she returned. My friend had ordered a glass of iced tea and I was having water. When our server came back she told us that the kitchen wanted to relay a message to me. That even though the items marked on the menu say GF, they cook, grill and bake these items on the same surfaces and grills, pans, etc, with other items that do contain gluten. She said that the kitchen air was also filled with dust from flour as the baker had just been there, baking. When my friend asked her what she suggested we do, her answer was, "We suggest that she doesn't eat here." as if I wasn't there. At that point my friend looked at me and said "We're going to need to go somewhere else." She asked the server "Are you going to comp my iced tea since we won't be eating here?" The server told her no, that it wasn't her fault that your friend has a gluten allergy. Then the server said "But I guess you can get up and leave and there is nothing I can I do about it. I will pay for your iced tea out of my own paycheck." She had already told us that she pays a dollar to park every hour while she works, as her parking app alarm had gone off. Of course my friend left some dollar bills on the table to cover the ice tea and the tip. I just wanted to let anyone else know that if you have a gluten issue, I would say that Duets is not the place for you. There is a great chance of cross-contamination. They do not clean the grill or prepare gluten-free items in a separate area. Also the servers may not be the best trained...
