I’m sad to say that Shuffles seems to have declined in quality since the first time we visited a few years ago.
We went to Shuffles to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a very poor experience.
To start, they had a table ready for us but would not seat us until 8/10 guests had arrived.
Once we were seated we waited about 5-10 minutes to order drinks (8 waters, a Dr.Pepper, and a Lemonade). The waiter brought our drinks and took our order, but he forgot to bring the lemonade entirely. We didn’t have the opportunity to tell him because he did not come back until he brought us our food AN HOUR later. In that time, our drink glasses stood empty. Our waiter was nowhere to be found.
Our appetizers came out at the same time as our food did. We ordered the pimento cheese dip. The menu says it comes with bread crackers and that’s also what’s pictured on the menu, but it actually came out with tortilla chips which is a really weird pairing and not what is advertised.
As for the entrees, they just weren’t good, especially for how expensive they are. The pizza was burned, the buffalo chicken wrap tasted like they made a salad and wrapped it in a tortilla, and the French fries were just okay. They also would not give us a side of ranch without paying extra for it because “they make it in house”. After waiting an hour, it was really disappointing food. I feel the food quality has declined over the last few years.
Additionally, the whole point of going to Shuffles is to play games, however the waiter never cleared our empty plates from the table so it made it difficult to play games which, as I mentioned before, is the entire purpose of going to Shuffles.
And to top it all off, they required our entire party to pay a 20% gratuity. Normally, that would be fine, but with the subpar food, hour long wait for the food, false advertising on the menu, and poor service we certainly did not receive an experience worthy of 20% gratuity.
Shuffles used to be one of our favorite places in Tulsa, but I’m not sure we’ll be back. When you go somewhere and pay for an experience, it should be one worth paying for....
Read moreMy friends and I came here friday evening to celebrate my friends birthday. We had a fairly large group and we hadn’t ever been so we weren’t sure what to expect. When we walked in, the bartender asked if we had a reservation and we told him no. That was clearly our fault, we honestly didn’t even think about making a reservation, we just thought it was first come first serve. We were seated in a booth that fit 8 of us because they had already sat another group at their largest table. We were completely fine with this, we understood that again, we should’ve made a reservation and we even talked to the waitress who said we could split up and have two tables with two different groups. My husband and I walked up to the bar to order a drink while we waited for our waitress to come by, and the bartender seemed a little annoyed. His attitude and his demeanor was very off putting. He wouldn’t let us order from him or look at the drink selections while at the bar but instead sent us back to the table to wait. He treated us like we were burdening him when he didn’t have a single person sitting at the bar. Our waitress also didn’t seem to thrilled about us being there either. On top of that, we went to go find a board game and the waitress went over to the table and told everyone that they would start seating others at the second table they said we could use. Maybe it was because they thought it would get busy? I’m not entirely sure. We ended up just getting our food to go and leaving. I understand we had a large group however we were more than happy to split up and we were also very understanding with them. Their demeanor screamed “burden” and “inconvenience” we weren’t holding them up from helping others around us. Obviously our fault for not planning better, maybe myself and my husband can try it out with just the two of us for a better experience at another time. I will say their appetizers are surprisingly large. Usually you get 6-8 garlic knots at other places but they load you up here, it was nice to have to share with our friends as we walked...
Read moreI realize a one star review may seem petty or unrealistic, but if I am to be completely honest concerning my experience at this establishment, a "no star" review would be more accurate.
I did not order food as the menu felt a little too pricey. This was just the beginning of a less than mediocre experience. The green tea I ordered was hot, but the young man waiting on us needed to be reminded twice to get sugar to me, and when he did, the surgar jar had maybe two teaspoons left in it. Finally after three requests he brought a teaspoon to stir it. After another two requests he brought another almost empty sugar jar.
So we got our games and got ready to play (we had a party of seven people) when our less than enthusiastic waiter informed us, "only one game at a time at each table". Even though each individual playing is charged $7 a piece to play. Not to mention the establishment has more than enough games to allow larger groups to play multiple games. When I asked if my son and I could sit at another table and play chess while the other five in our group played their game our waiter informed me that the other tables were for other customers. At this point I decided I wasn't going to play anything. They weren't getting my $7.
Several times throughout our time in boujee town our young waiter would weirdly stand by our table and just look at us.
When it was all said and done we payed 40 bucks for three players and some non-alcoholic drinks. And our weird little waiter still wanted a tip.
Maybe your experience will be better but this was not a family fun place. It was notba fun place. For all the $ it costs there shouldn't be so many stupid rules. It wouldn't hurt you to allow few games at a table for a large group. Rip off. Never...
