Updated to 3 Star
My group and I did concur that 2 stars maybe to harsh. If it wasn't clear we recognized parking instructions were provided but to those not familiar with downtown Tulsa it would be nice to include that you can only enter the shared parking lot from 6th
We also merit that we have a valid point that the phone number should be easier to access it should be on the sign at the facility and at the top of the Home page of the website.
I don't totally agree with say that this venue would need to cancel to unsure other guest our accommodated. Xcapery does mini prior which we recognized we missed by our on choice. I personally was late for the 12 o clock time for mining golf, I was well aware the escape room it self was at 12:30 and arrived on time for it and my delay was due to a heavy storm which I avoided.
So my suggestions again
Put the phone number on the website and at the building entrance
Also I'd mention that you need to enter the Vault Restaurant parking lot off 6th street.
I will say the staff member was polite and the room itself was good, we certainly were not disappointed.
If your in the downtown area and have done a escape room before you'll probably have a good time once you get in
Escape room was ok, certainly not the worst one we've tried. Worst part was just getting to the place and parking. The sheer lack of information provided was unacceptable. I had to call and wait for them to come get us off the street in a fairly unsafe area of town. So understandable they have to keep the door locked it just seems unprofessional you have to call and there number isn't in Google or easy to locate on the website. I don't see why the staff couldnt wait on the upper level since they should be expecting you.
Also then really should have told us which street to use to enter the parking lots since everything is one way and we had to circle several times to figure it out.
Over all the staff is nice and the escape room is decent but unless you live in the downtown area or are very familiar with the area I'd recommend stealing clear of this place since there are plenty of better options in...
Read moreAn absolute blastâimmersive, challenging & a fun way to appreciate Tulsaâs architecture and history.
My buddies and I were walking around admiring Tulsaâs Art Deco buildings when we stumbled upon the Xcapery. There happened to be a slot open soon, so we signed up for âThe Philtower Mysteryâ. The complimentary drink in the lounge was a nice surprise, even though I spilled most of mine (thanks for your patience Heidi).
We didnât know what to expect, but we were blown away! Weâre three smart dudes and we only barely solved the mystery in time. With a couple hints from Heidi of course;) It was immersive tooâmost of the tools/props were contemporary to the story, which was based on the actual history of Philtower. I especially enjoyed learning about the buildingâs construction and Tulsa in the 1920s. Heidi did a great job making it informative, and I donât want to spoil it, but the story takes you to some really cool places!
I highly recommend Xcapery to anyone who enjoys history, puzzles, or role-playing games. Itâs also great for team-building since itâs multilinear, which I think seasoned escape room fans will appreciate.
Iâm very glad I wandered into this, and I canât wait to...
Read moreIf you want to support local business by owners who care deeply about their place, come here for all the fun! I was part of a girls-only night and we had a blast. We did a quick game of mini-golf with glow-in-the-dark golf balls (which I think are super unique) and then got ready for the big event: the escape room! đ Our group of 8 did the "easy" room Chernobyl (if the other rooms are harder than this, then oh my). The rules were thoroughly explained and our game master/owner totally got us into character. The whole time she was keeping an eye on us, making sure we were moving along at a good pace but still letting us be the ones to figure things out. The clues varied from obvious to give-a-minute-to-think. đ¤ I loved how our group was able to spread out to find and figure out the clues, yet still had to work together to get to the next step. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for heart-pounding...
