To the owner that responded to my wife's review. You make the mistake of calling me her better half when in fact she is mine. You take my silence for kindness when in fact I was the first to complain about your establishment. You have a closet made of plywood that you have two individuals hot welding/ saudering with a torch which is illegal, exposing us to the arc of the torch, hexavalent fumes and welding torch radiation. I can't trust the individual was verified or licensed because he himself had no protective equipment on. All the while an 8 to 10 year old child was beside him and tailing one of your waitresses working as well. You can't perform that type of work while the dining room remains open and we sat less than 5 feet from the toxic repair. If that's not Osha/ health department violation enough, the technician then proceeded to charge the unit with a pink hvac canister of r134A/12 coolant while all of the diners ate exposing us all. No ventilation was provided during the work. Both doors remained shut during this time. Like you said, I my wife and 5 small children were the closest to this hazardous work being done. No need to respond to me. I'm a Business Consultant who specializes in OSHA, Health and Safety. I'll be filing the appropriate complaints with a number of departments that you can answer to. If this is what you do right in front of customers in the lobby, what's going on in the kitchen.

The parking lot was almost completely full when I arrived at Don Juan’s Mexican restaurant. I took what was probably the last parking spot and went inside. I expected to find a packed restaurant, but only seven of the 17 tables were occupied. However, five of the 10 remaining tables were uncleared after the dinner rush. While the restaurant appears to be a family-run place (there were two very young boys wandering around and trying to help out), the dining room was clearly understaffed. However, the woman at the register was very helpful and friendly. I ordered three tacos de buche and a horchata to go. I was offered red or green salsa and chose green. When I finally took my food out of the bag, I found that my tacos were beautifully composed on a plate with a couple of slices of radish, a slice of pickled jalapeño and a wedge of lime, and neatly covered with foil. The tacos were constructed with small, double corn tortillas, diced fresh onion and a touch of cilantro. As expected with buche, they were tasty delicious. The horchata appeared to be homemade with visible specks of spices floating on top of it. While it wasn’t overly sweet, it had more milk in it than I prefer. However, it was okay. While I wouldn’t take my in-laws to dine in at Don Juan’s, I would definitely return to take out more of their street tacos. I highly recommend the buche.

Okay, Don Juan's! I thought I had the best Mexican food in Twin. But I was wrong. As soon as I walked into this humble restaurant full of lively, happy diners (the parking lot was packed on a random Wed.), I smelled the difference. It smelled like garlic, onions, long-simmered sauces, happiness, and a good time. We were there with friends who are regulars. I let them order for me, something called Sincronizada Tacos (choice of meats, I loved mine with long, hot cheese pulls and tender chicken) with perfectly seasoned rice and stand-alone refried beans. I was tempted just to eat the rice and beans, that's how great they were. They have bottles of spicy and green sauce too. You can tell when a Mexican restaurant delivers if the salsa with the chips are fantastically flavored, and these were; they had everyone else beat by a mile. The salsa was spicy and tasty, and so full-bodied, I was tempted to drink it. (My friend said she has.) It's a friendly family-run restaurant, featuring a menu that will keep you coming back.

I’m always here, either with my dad or with my fiancé. I’ve pretty much grown up with this restaurant, they’ve seen me go from prepubescent teen to young woman. So I’ve been a pretty frequent coming customer for 4+ years. We are truly never disappointed. I absolutely love the staff, they are like family to us and they always welcome us with a smile. They are a VERY professional and clean environment. They know my order to a T and they always prepare it with love. My mood is always risen coming here, not that I come in sad all the time, but when I have my days, I’m truly never disappointed. I’ve truly not had one bad experience here. I’ve seen a lot of the negative reviews a lot of folks leave here, and they don’t really shock me. A lot of folks here are just purely entitled. Not every waitress will have a smile or a bubbly voice. Some of us are born with deeper voices and scarier faces, if you can’t take it then move on with your day seriously, you can’t please them all. I see a lot of reviews berating the customer service and food and hey, kudos to the owner’s response defending their employees, don’t really get much of that anywhere. Anyway, this is HIGHLY authentic food. Considering I’ve grown up around this food, I have very high expectations going anywhere. Consider my expectations MET, my fiancé always orders the burritos, so he highly recommends the burritos and I always get carne asada tacos with rice & beans! He also really loves the Margaritas! Once I’m not pregnant I’ll have to come back in to update the taste of the Margs since I’m only 20 still & spending my 21st birthday pregnant 🤣 I’ll forever love coming here, it never gets old! 100%...

The food quality is below average, and the service staff seem underpaid and can't even produce a smile. The chili Colorado I would compare to a can of alpo beef for dogs, disgusting. The nachos in the appetizer menu looked good. We ordered chicken, but the flavor tasted like cheap chorizo and not the good kind.. The restaurant itself looks like it should be demolished and rebuilt. The salsa was pretty good, though... All in all, cheap drinks cheap eats if you don't really care about what's going in your mouth. And as per the comment left by your representative. The only arguing you saw was my repulsion at your chili Colorado and him reminding me that he took one look at the place and didn't want to stay, And everyone cleaned their plates because my kids ordered corn dogs which you can't really mess up can you? When your waitress asked me how everything was, I said it was OK. I'm not trying to be rude to her because she serves what you buy and cook. This is why we always tip 20 percent. As a reflection of our character, not your staffs capabilities. Btw you couldn't even handle a bean burrito order with no cheese, which had to be sent back and remade which we did not keep your Waitress took to the kitchen. Don't spew your lies here. Judging by your response, I would say you belong at the location you rent. You might want to rethink your illegal bookkeeping practices where you fail to report the items being charged to customers. I know you won't take the constructive criticism though. Your maturity shows. You're not hurting anyone here banning us. That's comical. We would never eat there again if we...

The place looked like a "dive" restaurant (plastic wrap on the tables, dimly lit, etc) which was rather encouraging to me because I have had some of my best mexican food at "dives." The chips and salsa were good (but they charged for the second serving which always gets to me.) They didn't have lemons to go with the tea. There were five of us: two ordered the taco lunch special, one ordered the burrito lunch special, I ordered the enchilada lunch special, and the youngest ordered chicken nuggets off the kid menu. The food arrived in 3 stages (BIG no-no with me.) First the 2 orders of tacos and the burrito came out. The food was hot (a good thing) and the flavor was good. Several minutes passed and the kids meal arrived (nothing special about it.) Several more minutes passed and the enchiladas FINALLY arrived (the others were half finished with their meal.) There was no apology for the amount of time it took which leads me to believe this is standard practice. The enchiladas were small with very little meat inside (I had one beef, one pork, and one chicken) and all were very dry and overcooked. The server was pleasant but could have visited the table at least once while we waited for our food. One other odd thing, the server showed up at the end of the meal and "announced" the price of the meal without a ticket in her hand. We never received an itemized ticket, just took her word for it and paid her. At the end of the day we won't be going back. The food was not good enough to overlook...
