More of an all around local art, natural history, and native peoples museum with a planetarium dome and small observatory. The space aspect takes a back seat to the adequate natural history displays. Where this facility shines is its rotating local art exhibit space, and well appointed native peoples exhibits. There are lots of hands on activities for kids, and enough reading material to keep busy adults informed. The museum areas are free, and the staff quite friendly. Read moreI'm giving 5 stars because there is nothing else like it. But I attended a child's field trip yesterday that was less than captivating. Lydia from beetle juice was the presenter. And not thrilled to be there it seemed. I learned a lot. The reptile review was pretty slow paced for first graders. Getting the kids captivated, instead of seeming annoyed would have been neat.
